HTC One X

I just took a walk down to the MTN store at the V&A waterfront now and they've got stock of the oneX. They just received their order of handsets today.

No oneS tho :(

Battery life's not looking that great on the One X Tegra. :(

The One X AT&T battery life is outstanding though.

The Tegra WILL be less power hungry with coming updates. The companion core is not yet properly utilized. some custom firmware has already allowed for correcting this and seen good results .

kernal source for internation version is now out

also freezing or removing htc account drastically improves battery on one x

I hope you're right. Looking forward to some updated reviews.

Walked into MTN Sandton today and ended up walking out with the One X.

Don't expect it to be done soon. Devs at XDA still seem to be coming to grips with the recently released source. Apparently a LOT of new tegra stuff involved in the kernel

Were you able to pick a colour or was there only black?

Got mine today from MTN in Brooklyn Square (Pta) :D .... I asked how many they had left and was told that there was one... but they only received 6! So pretty much all gone in a day (I went there on Friday just before closing time as well, but they hadn't received any by then)... They've ordered more... Seem to only have the dark grey one...

Btw... once off fees I had to pay:
> R99 for the 'upgrade' (despite the fact that my 24 month contract had elapsed)
> R137 for a sim swap, owing to the fact that I needed to get a micro sim for the One X and my previous phone (desire) used a standard sim card, they didnt have a cutter facility and I didn't have the patience to search around.

Sim activation happens 'within 24 hours', mine actually happened within 2 hours, but the old sim does stay operational till the new one is activated... so no big issue...

According to the salesman MTN only has black in fact both the Sandton stores only received one so far and I walked in an hour after it arrived and took it.

HTC has some exclusivity deal with T -Mobile in USA with regards to the OneS. So it will probably be some time before they're out here..

Darn, hope it's not delayed for too long if this is true? :(

Anyone know where I can get a protection cover for my HTC One X, maybe a rubber glove that feels good and wont break easily...

my brother got a One X and he cant get the damn thing to sync with the HTC Sync software.

followed all the steps, got all the drivers installed, windows updated... and it refuses to pick up the phone!!!

I find its best to avoid all types of sync software if possible. Can you not do sync over the air?

Also does it pick up the phone as a storage device?

I just got mine from MTN, so far I'm impressed :) The screen really does look amazing (although, I am comparing it to my Desire) but the black level is still noticeably not as dark as on Amoled displays. Anyway, I'm happy to say that I don't have any of the screen issues some people reported internationally (at least not yet, *crosses fingers*). Hopefully another happy 2 years with HTC!

How do you find the size of it?
