Warranty

I spoke to one of Leaf's tech guys yesterday regarding loading cooked roms and so on. According to her, you will not loose your warranty????

Nope I don't think you will as if it is a hardware failure it is generally nothing to do with the ROM, or otherwise you could probably just flash the original SPL/Radio/ROM back.

Before flashing ROMS though you should install Hard-SPL.

I must say one thing that is irritating me with the Diamond is constantly having to push the on/off button to bring the phone out of standby...Anyone know of an app that allows you to push say the circle to activate the phone?
 
Noob question.

Do I need to have hard SPL loaded before I load the new official rom? :o

As far as I am aware no, I don’t have hard SPL loaded and I upgraded to the 1.93 ROM with no trouble. I think you only need it for unofficial cooked ROMS, but don’t hold me to that, someone on here will be able to tell you for sure.

Oops, I meant the new 2.03 upgrade.

Howzit Grims,

I've managed to download the the file from the link posted on the previous page by Landyman. I thinks its the original shipped rom, but I'm still weary of loading it just yet as I don't have Hard SPL. :)

Hey blinks,

Cool I must Download it. As I said I don't think you need to Hard SPL to load an offical rom. Actually I am almost certain of it because if you load an official rom you obviously dont have the worry of voiding your warranty like you do by loading Hard SPL.

Your system has a built-in GPS, so you don't need another.

To use navigation you need an application. I use Garmin Mobile XT, available for a kilorand from the Leaf shop. Works fine. Just Wednesday I use it to track location while flying from the Cape.
