So I need to roll back my Huawei Router Software, for some reason my router automatically throttles my speed as I go from 100Mbps to 14Mbps. No, it's not tower congestion as if I take the sim out of the router and put it in another device I get my full speed so its either the router is overheating and automatically slowing down ( the router does get really hot) or there's some glitch with the software. So if anyone can provide any insight it would be much appreciated. Huawei B525-65a with an External poynting antenna. See attached image for current version

Check your signal strengths . For example your RSSI and so forth

There should be people here who could help ... with your problem seeing that you got a Outside Antenna

Also, which other devices exactly?
I'm also using a B525 for the time being on latest firmware, but I'm not seeing any slowdown apart from my single tower getting congested at really peak times and MTN's QoS soft throttling. You do being up a point though, some of their other routers aren't outputting full speed via some ethernet ports so I wonder if your issue (if confirmed) is related to that

THE ETHERNET PORTS ARE SO SLOW, I thought maybe it was a defect on my side but my ethernet ports are also very slow, On my 5Ghz band when I do a speedtest id get around 60-70Mbps but on Ethernet around 20-30Mbps. To answer your question, I've tried the sim in my Z Flip, a small mifi router from Vodacom and the speeds are always much much much higher.

Also, this is the 1TB package on telkom, there's no soft throttling on this package at all. So I'm not sure whether somehow Telkom is able to sense that the sim is in a Router and automatically slow it down, and maybe the speeds on my phone are perfect because Telkom senses its in a phone and not in a router thats feeding other devices. Idk if that's possible but that is one of my weird theories lmao

Interestingly, just decided to test my b525 with an external antenna with great stats as well after reading this.

Ethernet 13 down, wifi 5Ghz 40-50 down also 2300 band with latest firmware.

Consistently getting way less download speed on ethernet than on wifi.

So I'm pretty sure the software is causing majority of the issues, however I don't have any speed test results before the whole UI change and all that. But is there a way to roll back

I am not sure if you can roll back, I will do more testing tomorrow when the rain subsides as my router is in a outbuilding.

@Nabeel786 did more testing today and getting consistent speeds on both ethernet and wireless.

Not too sure why it was different yesterday.

So now I know its definitely the router, As when the speed did significantly drop to around 15Mbps, I plugged in an Ethernet and tested it on my laptop and the speed was 50Mbps! How even???
