HUAWEI B618 LTE-A router discussion thread.

It so happens should power go out while the router is on ... when the power comes back on it will automatically switch it on as the router was still on "on state". I got myself one of those huawei battery packs battery though sometime last year and it still serving me well. Router is always on even when load shedding hits and when the electricity decided to come up the backup battery gets charged automatically.

I do. It's a great antenna! It basically doubles my download and upload speeds when I have it connected

What speeds, and signal strength did you have, before you connected the antenna?
How much did signal strength improve after connecting the antenna?

Does it have to be mounted or can I hang out a window etc until I find the best possible location for it?
 
It is directional so hanging it out the window is not going to work. Put it on a broom stick or similar and see where it improves your signal strength and then make a temporary mounting for it that way.

I can't remember the exact numbers, and don't currently have access to test, bit is was something along the lines of increasing download from 7mbps to 30mbps on the B315. I cannot recall the B618 numbers

Can anyone assist with getting NAT loopback/haripinning working?

My dybdns port forwarding works great when out of the house, but when in the WiFi network the router does not loopback when I refer to my external IP address. I'm using the unrestricted APN on telkom LTE.

3 Months Ago, I heard that CELLC was going off the market with LTE, I was promised that I would get a package and remain with them, however as I pushed for answers the Lies become more and more, I have been such a good client that all I want to do is meet everyone half way, but they never answer your calls they close the whatsapp chats saying it has been resolved when no one has phoned back. 3 days ago, An agent agreed that a manager would phone me back and I'm still waiting. I am unemployed but yet my account was always up to date and I said I cant afford the courier fee back to JHB from Vanderbijlpark yet still no answers.

Any other ideas on how I can solve this matter.....

Check what your contract stated regarding router collection etc. The staff will be working within those guidelines.
 
I cannot seem to find a definitively B618s-65d model available on any online store right now.

They have disappeared off Takealot. Plenty of I have no idea what model number it is and B618s-22d models available.

On Takealot they seem to become available in small batches, the disappear for 2 or 3 weeks ...

Keep an eye out, and you might get lucky.

I might have received the last B618s-65d they had, which was delivered on Monday. I can't find it on their site, nor does the original product link work. Fortunately had found a good priced link last week. The 22d was more expensive. I took a screen print because I thought they would ship a 22d instead.

Can you use the B618 with a Smartdns service (e.g Getflix, Unlocator or Smartdnsproxy)?

After entering Primary and secondary DNS there is an empty field for PPPoE user name, which I don't have.
 
Is it possible to force the B618 on to a specific Cell ID?
Reason: On Supersonic FLTE, there are 2 cell ID's which appear. One performs way better than the other. As of late, my router seems to be stuck on the low performing Cell ID. Would like to force it the other one.

It is possible that the two Cell IDs are on different frequencies. It might be worth trying that first. What network is supersonic using?

I have used the Band Tools (with the help of @cavedog) to force to 900, 1800 and/or 2100. Just does not want to connect to the Cell ID I would like. This only happened within the last 2 - 3 days. As if it has disappeared.
That's why I was hoping if one could force Cell ID like what can be done with the bands.
