Huawei Mate 20

Hi All. So I imported mine M20pro from Hong Kong as I need a dual sim vairiant. Anyway, I've picked up the green screen and was wondering if anyone knew if I could have it replaced or repaired here? Or if I would need to send it back to Hong Kong.

My SO received her one yesterday from Telkom which is of course the LG panels but hers look fine for the time being TBH. Taking it to the local Huawei might be an option but as they haven't bothered to respond to the green screen issues I don't know how that will pan out.

What's up with LG. They have a chequered history with smartphones.

5x with bootlooops because of faulty motherboards. G4, if I recall having some issues. Similarly V10 and V20. Now the M20P panels.

I shudder to imagine the value in reputational damage sustained by Hauwei.

Got the spigen cover as well, really nice and good protector.

Contacted Huawei Singapore about the issue with my phone, they busy setting up the exchange program, they doing QC for the next few days to check if the replacement batch also has issues, if no, they will exchange. If its a bad batch then I have to wait 2 weeks for the new batch to come in which dont have the issue.

I messaged them on Facebook and they got back to me within a few hours, seriously impressed how they have responded to this. I'm sure Huawei in SA will do the same, they really are customer focused.

TBH, I probably would never had noticed the green bleed until I read about it and saw I had an LG panel. Provided it doesn't get worse, I could easily live with it.

Same. It was only after I read then went and did the test did I notice it.

Well Huawei messaged me on a Sunday night at 9pm saying that the new batch will arrive 19 to 2e Nov and we will be contacted accordingly for the exchange along with a powerbank to say sorry. Not bad at all.

My problem is really with shill reviews, and those reviewers to be too scared to criticise issues (or play them right down) because they’re petrified of being left off the freebie list for the next release or are being paid to only say good things.

Even when serious issues crop up they’ll very quickly knock up a vacuous pretend comparison and try and lead the discussion away from the issues many customers are experiencing all over the world.

Greengate? Let’s just throw out a story about how the product DESTROYS the competition.

Nothing wrong here [fingers in ears] la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la ...

@Dolby do you know if the Discovery Insure app works with the Mate20? I saw your other post where it was not working with the P10. The Discovery document showing all the compatible phones is very outdated.

Huawei releases faulty phone....

Huawei users/fan boys go "It's ok cause Apple also releases faulty phones"
:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:
Well no its not ok, the way I've been treated by Huawei is what makes the annoyance of having to replace the phone ok. Every company has a fail. Its not just limited to apple. Google, Samsung, LG are among the few I can think of. You deal with it and move on.

Here’s an orange.

No, look, here’s an apple.

About as apt as describing faults with a brand new device just out of the factory and fresh from the QC department with a fault now occurring on a year old device...

I’m sure Apple probably have had some sort of straight from the production line fault (like Samsung also did with the Note 7) but the fault on the X is hardly the same type of thing. Why not also add the battery faults a segment of iPhone 6s handsets had last year?

Fanboys just can’t help themselves though, Huawei launches a phone with serious QC issues so the fanboys go “but Apple, but Apple”...
