Huawei P6

Word on the street is the P7 might be launching locally this week.

Sweet! I wonder what the pricing is like... I won't get one for myself but maybe for my mother...

The expectation was at the same pricing and deal types as when the p6 launched, it is after all the same cash price in EU.
Exchange rate won't help, but it should not be too much more expensive. I got my p^ from CellC for like 260 2 weeks after it launched.

is anyone running P6 B510?
I was the Chinese version, but was too iffy. OmnieRom has updates it's code to the same source so technically I am.

No intention of going back to official, OmnieRom is just way faster, and even as minimally customised as Huawei appears, it's still far smaller.

Im using panandroid and its great.
Had that on my nexus, but moved away as the Dev become slow and bug ridden, each update becoming worse and slower than the last.

So far omni has been good, each update and improvement. Only 2 majorish bugs in the last 3 months. First being a screen delay with incoming calls, which was actually a problem with the official source that went to China. So that affected official users as well.

Second being a permissions issue after upgrading to the latest kitkat, but that was fixed with a format of the internal storage.

Does Bluetooth function properly? I use it daily and I don't want to make the switch from stock until I am sure...

I have never turned it on, so cannot say.
The only bug is with the external storage permissions, but coming from stock that would not affect you.

There were never any Bluetooth bugs reported for any of the versions.

Check the xda thread, known bug are noted on the post. If there was an issue, someone would of noticed and that gets updated on avg once a week.

Been more often lately with the updates from 4.4.1 - 4.4.4 (which came out Monday )

I know somebody who just bought a P6. What i the latest official Android update available for the device locally ?

Official, the one you have on it. On China and parts of Europe have gotten the kitkat updates.

Any obvious / annoying bugs? Battery life on par with 4.2.2?

Battery life is the same or slightly better, benchmarks shows an improvement over B125/132. My best An Tu Tu score with B510 is 16775 and it seldom dips below 16000. I don't think one should pay too much attention to the battery indication until you have recharged it a couple of times from flat. There may be bugs because I have two apps that would become unresponsive one of them is the MyBroardband app, even when its running in the background a message will come up randomly that it has stopped. Its always hard to know if it is 4.4.2 or the app having problems with 4.4.2. I think I would do a clean install this weekend and see how it does then.

I have cleared the data and cache of the MyBroadband app and it seems fine now : this is the first post I have made without it freezing. So a clean install maybe the way to go.

I updated to B132 in preparation for B510 ( from B125) and I must say, 132 is definitely smoother than 125...

When extracting the B510.zip I see that the actual UPDATE. APP file is only 15mb with a bunch of other folders etc. Both 125 and 132 was only on big UPDATE. APP file. Is this correct?

No, it should be around 900mb if I remember correctly, I have already deleted the file after update.
