Go for the P6. It's a decent phone and I preferred it to the S4 Mini by a long shot!
As soon as you get it, go to www.huaweinews.com and find the latest firmware for the international P6. Download that and copy it to the SD card.
On the phone, go to settings and then software update and you'll see an option for s local update or something like that.....
Just read the instructions on the site very carefully - some updates require a newer version than what is currently installed in order to upgrade to the latest...
A friend got a P6 at launch and has no online updates but isn't on a new enough version to jump straight from where she is now to go straight to kitkat
SO i received my Huawei P6 today, it comes with firmware B119, can i directly update to the latest firmware, or whats the path i should follow?
n SA I am pretty sure that's the latest available firmware, you will have to manually update to the EU B125
Busy downloading it now, but saw there is a lot newer versions, just not sure how stable they are and if i can update directly to them from the 125 update,
Also is it worth upgrading to 4.4.2?, current version 4.2.2 is pretty nice.
Now you're tempting me even more to go try a Windows Phone.... The itch has been there for at least 6 monthsI updated to B125 this morning, still contemplating if i must install B132 and ultimately B513 with 4.4.2
My experience of the phone this far is quite good, my previous Android device was a S4 and I have to admit I like this phone much more.
The Display is brilliant, i simply cannot see the difference between 720p and 1080p, on my larger lumia 1320 its noticeable but not on the smaller 4.7" display. The P6 and my previous Iphone 5's display looks identical.
The P6 has a lot less lag than my Samsung S4, but Facebook still lags.
EmotionUI is far superior to TouchWiz, i simply love it!
I have read a lot of mixed reviews on the WIFI, but my Wifi is fantastic this far, i was really scared since my Wifi router is +-20m away from my room with 5 walls in between. My Iphone, Ipad, Lumia and Samsung worked, but with 1 bar signal. The Huawei has 3 bars which i think is brilliant.
The battery is not great, i got about 7 - 8 hours on it with moderate use, its on par with the Samsung S4 and much better than the Iphone 5. I did read the B125 improves battery life, so lets see. 100% at 8:30, will update at 16:00.
The reviews also said the keyboard lags and is unresponsive, my experience this far its superior to the S4 and very responsive and accurate, but not as good as the Iphone5.
Build quality is second only to the Iphone, very well build phone.
Sound quality is good, but a little soft for my liking.
I have been working on the Lumia 1320 the last few months and was constantly complaining about the huge @ss phone and how uncomfortable it is, i always said the ideal phone size is 4.7", but now im really struggling with the small screen. I have also grown to rather like the Lumia with WP8.1.
If every single person who has a Android device had to use a Lumia/WP device for 1 month and after that month had to decide if they want their Android device back or keep the Lumia, im sure 60% of the people will stick to Lumia/WP.
You have to get used to it, but the build quality and the smoothness of the phone is brilliant. Besides that the Lumia 1320 lasts 3 days, its hard going back to a phone which barely lasts a day after that. Now you're tempting me even more to go try a Windows Phone.... The biggest problem with WP8.1 is lack of apps, the reason for this is small user base, and the reason for that is poor marketing from MS. The bigger the user base will get, the better quality apps we will get. WP also being much better optimized for its hardware, you can expect much better performance and basically every phone running WP8.1 today will get WP10.
I flashed the B708 EMUI 3.0 they say it's a beta but no issues what so ever 3G is good battery the battery last the whole day I charge at 10:00pm and have almost every time 35% and not to mention EMUI 3.0 makes it a whole new phone.
I had to choose between the 730 and the P6, since i already have the 1320 i went for the P6.I won't keep the phone for long enough to see WP10... I'm looking at replacing my P7 with a 730, 830 or 930
Noob question. How do you transfer data from the P6 to pc using a usb cable, plugged mine in and nada, pc does not see it at all.

Have not done it myself, but you have to download drivers for your phone, and install the Huawei pc suite software.
Aha! Thanks for that.
