Huawei P6

Kitkat broke this functionality on my LG tablet.

Yes Android 4.4 does not allow any third party apps to delete or change any files. This is mainly to prevent malware from doing harm to your device. Apps can only do this in their allocated space.

P6 or S4 Mini?
My wife can upgrade next month and those are the two we are looking at.
Specs seems neck and neck.

LOL, I just spoke to a guy at work that had the same choices, went for S4 and is regretting it.
Personally I would say wait, the P7 will be here by August.

I doubt the P7 will launch at the current price of the P6?

Dunno what the current price is, but it is launching at the same launch price as the P7, which was under 6k if I remember correctly.

If it has to be between those 2, take the P6, its a more sturdy phone and has less bloatware so the performance is better during every day use, from what I have read though, the S4 may be better for the 3D level gaming, P6 is not so great for that.

Agreed, although I am biased. But I have also used the S4 Mini and ignoring the neck to neck specs, I can add:

At the time I got my P6 it's contract was way cheaper than S4mini and I used the difference to subsidise extra data. I'm not up to date with current price comparissons.
The sturdy and solid built P6 feels slightly heavier and bulkier than the cheap plastic feel of the S4mini.
The Huawei UI feels simpler and more natural than the Samsumg layout plus bloatware.
S4mini is common while P6 stand out in the crowd.

Remember that the P6 is much bigger than the GS4 mini. Your wife might prefer the smaller size.

My SO has the S4 mini, my mom has the P6. Before my SO got the S4 mini, I tried to convince her to get the P6 instead.

Now I'm actually thinking I made a mistake, and I'm glad she didn't take my advice.

Eventhough the P6 has 500MB ram more and a higher resolution display, the S4 mini simply performs better in every day usage.

I use a GS4 and I'm used to how responsive and smooth the screen touch response is. I perceive the responsiveness of the S4 mini to be on par with that of the GS4. Compared to these two phones, the touch response of the P6 is obviously slower which somewhat takes away from the user experience.

Has anyone else tried out both these phones? Maybe someone else has noticed the same.

Ja I googled around and it seems like the S4 mini is smoother than the P6.
I just noticed now that FNB has the S4 (normal version) for R249 p/m compared to the Vodacom (where my wife has her contract) deal of S4 mini at R294. So getting the S4 at R249 and buying prepaid airtime might be a better option in my opinion although a little bit more expensive.
