Huawei P6

I updated to B132 in preparation for B510 ( from B125) and I must say, 132 is definitely smoother than 125...

When extracting the B510.zip I see that the actual UPDATE. APP file is only 15mb with a bunch of other folders etc. Both 125 and 132 was only on big UPDATE. APP file. Is this correct?
Yes, that's correct for the update.zip file, which is an ota update.

A full update.app is around 1,2gb when it's unzipped.

I'd suggest using the full update.app from the Huawei Romania. I've posted a link to the file (on Mega) a few posts up.

What do you guys prefer... B510 or a custom rom? I am liking the pure AOSP rom that is available, so thinking of going that route, BUT, if the official kk rom is good I am happy to go with that as well.

Personally I prefer custom, but I have not tried the official non Chinese release, so cannot compare to that. Custom is just a lot smaller, and omnirom has been very well made so I have no reason to change. Also prefer the dark ui to the Huawei white one.

Thanks, everyone seems happy with Omni. Would you say that your phone is faster / smoother than stock 4.2.2?

Naturally, but that's not a fair comparison, even the stock Chinese one that had bugs was faster. Kitkat at its core is faster than JellyBean

Still no update from Vodacom. Wonder it will happen or not?
It's only been out like a month, you need to give Vodacom at 3 months to pretend to test it, look at Samsung, those updates are usually 6 months to a year behind.

Hey guys, I see talk on here about the need to replace the P6 screen. A family member's screen needs replacing. Can anyone give feedback on their experiences and costs thereof?

Preferably somewhere Durban based.

I think I was quoted about R2k in JHB...

Don't think you are going to have much luck in Durban. Just had my daughters screen replaced. You need to speak to Jimmy at tirisano cellular in bedfordview. google will give you the phone number. R1100 to replace the screen. Courier with Postnet.

Based on the info you gave, you have 2 options.

1. Use an sd card to do the update, try the one that came with the phone.
2. Don't update to kitkat.

The way you want to do it is not possible and its function has no logical requirement. SD cards are firstly stupidly cheap and an 8gb comes in the box, so why would they waste endless hour's making it work without an sd card, they give you one to start with and again, they are stupidly cheap. You can get a 16gb for under R100

So what did you do with the SD card it came with.

Wasting time swapping sims, unless of course you have a European one lying around as OTA kitkat has only been released in Europe and Asia.
