Hubble Batteries

Mmm thats odd no idea tbbh
The discrepancy between the BMS and the information printed on the battery is a little annoying, but not the end of the world. It works as expected for now. We'll see how long they last :)

Seems I dodged this one. First installer wanted to install Hubble's, the Installer I ended up using proposed Shoto's. Hopefully they will hold.

I’m also having weird Hubble AM2 issues. I don’t know who to ask to fix it.
What exactly is going on with your battery? Maybe we can assist.
I have had excellent service from Jason @Hubble.

For the price paid it shouldn’t be luck. Horrific quality.
No, I totally agree. This is what I bought at the time. So this is what I am stuck with. My issues seem to be sorted now. If I had to buy now, I would look at the newer Am-5 or rather the Sunsynk or Freedomwon batteries.

There are thousands of AM-2's in the market with no problems. If you sell so many you are bound to get some with issues. The thing is not perfect.

They can fix their repair process for sure. Mine took a month. Shipped from JHB to CPT and back again. Stupid.

Yes, I am aware of the fact that there are AM-2s out there with different specs on the stickers. Very strange.
Some are 100aH, 110aH and 115aH. AFAIK.

When my one battery had a dead cell they had to ship it from JHB to CPT for repairs as they do not have the specialized equipment in JHB to replace cells. They said they are waiting for it. Not sure if that has been sorted by now. It must cost them a kakhuis vol geld to ship batteries up and down the whole time.

Good Day. Is there still issues with the Hubble AM-2 batteries? Thinking of going with a installer who is Sunsynk authorised but only installs sunsynk with Hubble am-2 and no other batteries
Mine still going fine even after 1 year now.

Get the AM5 if you can. Seems to be better based on what I read
Hubble AM-5 installed for just under 2 months now, no major issues.
Seems the BMS charges to 100%, then to 94%, then 95%, then 96% etc, till eventually back to 100%.
Then it cycles again...
Initially I was worried when it stayed at 98% the first week, but I emailed Hubble and they said the BMS will manage the charge and as long as it reaches 100% once every 90 days, it's fine (cell balancing happens at 100% of course).
I've also read that Lion batteries should never remain at 100% , but this is what i've read somewhere.

Same here, 3 x AM-5 since 1st week March.

Was well priced from Powerforum Store at the time and given the anecdotal AM-2 issues, my thoughts/hopes were that Hubble would have used all data available to improve with AM-5.
As already mentioned all over, AM-5 is LFP as opposed to NMC which was on my wishlist.

No issues thus far... touching all available wood.

On cycling: often seen 100% and 98%-99% at times.

Don't (yet) have Cloudlink or Solar Assistant for more detailed info, so can only comment on day-to-day performance to date.

First other person i know with am5 reporting back thank you.
What inverter are you running?

With my luxpower lxp, on the app it give essential info, but if i log into the web portal, i can see detailed info from the inverter.
I dont have cloudlink... yet. Didnt think i needed it unless there were issues.

Same here - 3 x AM5's since mid-March.

Deye 3-phase 12k Inverter.

Haven't paid any attention to them tbh - they just seem to work.

My brother has had 2 x AM2's coupled to 2 x Deye 5.5k inverters since January. No complaint from him either.

Inverter: Sunsynk 8k with Sunsynk gateway.
All loads on essential, managed via smart home.

Below is pretty much all that is visible on SS App and Web portal.
SOH reported only on LiBMS menu on inverter.

Question:
With more than 1 battery, any idea if inverter-based LiBMS parameters like SOH, temp etc. are reported as an average across all batteries or only the master/1st/closest to inverter battery?

You Sure?

The Luxpower Webportal give every bit of info imaginable. I'm sure the SS web portal does too.

under each of these menu's are a few more "sub-menus"

Those are pretty comprehensive:

No idea sorry.
