Huge SAA flight cancellations

I'm in two options for that.

First option is to let it die out, close it up and finish it off properly. The problem is that this will have a ripple effect on the economy as creditors will want their dues.

Second option is to shunt it into business rescue, cut all overheads to the bare minimum, and do retrenchments...

The first option is preferred, because the second option have the chance of getting abused for moar oinkage.
Yeah, I think it's time to cut our losses.

Right, so strike is still happening then. Cool. Like someone mentioned, there are plenty of alternatives - my flight to Europe in December is also not by SAA. So no worries there. :)

I bet SAA will give in to the unions and everyone gets their 8%.

Your company is failing and you want an increase.
That's logical
Thee's a chance it's the unions that are pursuing the increases and not the workers. Unions gain significantly from these increases and with NUMSA on detached from COSATU, they'll likely pursue this with zeal.

Mother****er these unions are fcking idiots.
I don't know who is more stupid, the unions or the people listening to them that are striking.

I really hope SAA falls into the black hole it has created for itself and the company goes under. Then the unions can be left with their d**ks up their asses and the strikers can wonder where it all went wrong.

Rant over.

No more government bailouts for SAA, says Gordhan after meeting unions

Is the strike without pay? Please feel free to keep striking...
IIRC somewhere it was mentioned that it was an unprotected strike and that it was a no pay strike. If the union membas have any brains, they would tell the union leaders to stick it and go back to work.

The longer the strike goes on, the deeper the debt hole for union membas (and other non-union employees) grow. Their families need to eat after all, so the loan sharks will have a field day with this.

Can anyone explain to me where National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) fits into this? I wouldn't have expected running an airline to involve a lot of metalwork?

So now if SAA ever gets another bailout we can call Gordhan a liar.

Seems like SAA is screwed because they've only lasted this long due to handouts. GG, well played.
