good luck, keep us updated :D

You put your hands? I have been yogaing and going to pillates for 3 months(6days a week) and I now can stay in plank for a few minutes , I do not know if it's my brain but I just can not do a push up. My shoulder just say no. I have tried to isolate the tricep by touching it or concentrating on it but I just can not do it!

( I'm a bit plonky but my bmi still say I'm ok)

Just thinking I might be approaching this wrong?

//envious :(

Were your hands under your shoulders or wider?

My hands were outside my shoulder.

Maybe try the alternative push up?

Any of you guys fancy trying diamond pushups?

mine slightly wider than my shoulders, like Czc says try doing the assisted push ups, so basically your knee's will be your pivot point instead of your feet, makes it a good degree easier until you are ready to tackle the normal ones.

Diamond push up?

put your hunds together under you so your 2 index fingers meet and 2 thumbs meet making a "diamond shape"

33.....

I was aiming for at least 35, cause that seems to be where you guys are at, but I couldn't get the 34th up.

Not too bad, but got a long way to go :)

I still think that I will start week 3 though

Did the test, I managed 48. Not bad for a computer geek I guess. Wondering how lifting weights compares to pushups, since I have weights that I lift once in a while?

sheesh impressive!

Yea I have my weights to thank for that. And I only weigh about 60 something kgs.
My arms have ok muscle but the rest of my body still needs work, my overall fitness is probably not too good

I'm lucky in that I don't need to lose weight, but that might mean gaining muscle isn't going to be easy, I need to eat more.

strength training builds muscle , prompting weight loss (with a good diet of course)

www.stronglifts.com - go check it out

I still want to do their 5x5 programme, but would have to join a gym again.

I am going to do the 100pushups initial test with a friend on Friday, then we will start the program accordingly. Nice thing is that you can do this at home, and don't need to go to gym or purchase any equipment.
