i got my iMac!!

Yep, and it's free...
You'll have to format the External, i.e. lose all the date that's currently on there, and then Time Machine will use the disk as an backup device.

Does anyone use TimeCapsule or whatever its called for backup?
I use both TimeCapsule and SuperDuper - the latter is excellent for creating an exact copy of your hard drive in case you need to quickly restore.

Thx. If I copy everything on the external to the MAC harddrive and setup TC, can I use the external for other storage as well? Don't want to keep my iTunes on the harddrive, its about 80gb.

But yes, you can store other data on the Time Machine backup device.

Backups sorted, busy adding iTunes back to external.

Can someone please tell me what is Spaces?

Enable it and see for yourself :)

Press F8 on the keyboard or Ctrl + an arrow key to move through spaces.

Basically, each of those windows is a Seperate Dekstop.. It's to save Clutter and that. You can drag windows to and from the different spaces.

Its a really cool feature!

I fricken hate Spaces simply cause I dont like to multitask, if and when I multitask, I do it in one window...
And that's all I have to say about that.

Here's a nice tip if you use leopard...

Drag your applications folder onto the right side of the dock, you'll have the folder with all application fan out as a stack grid for easy access.

Good tip!

I just bought VMWare Fusion from Canal Walk Apple shop and busy downloading the free Version 2 update atm. Hoping to run some Windoze
apps in unity mode :).

BTW unlike other Apple Shops and other shops period, the CW Apple shop
Staff are very friendly and down-to-earth. Contrast this with the as-holes who
work for AudioVision (going OT here but anyway).

Canal Walk has an Apple shop?

How much does it cost - I also want something like that.
And is it any good?
