I cant get this right. When I drag it to the right, it either wants to place it in Trash, or it makes a little dust cloud, you cant see it, and ends up on Macintosh HD.

What am I doing wrong?

Just drop it to the right of the divider (but to the left of the trash).

Just click on your harddrive icon to open finder>navigate to your root directory(click the harddrive icon under devices in the finder sidebar)> You should see the Applications folder now.

Drag the folder onto your dock a little to the right of where the separator is> wait a sec for the dock to react> it will make a space for you> place it in the space then let go> you should have the icon as a stack now.

Thx, but it still wont do it. I drag it and hold it to the right of the seperator, but it doesnt move. If I drop it, it makes a little dust cloud, and it doesnt appear?
Is it possible the dock might be locked or something?

EDIT - Got it, I kept dragging it from places, but once I dragged it from the root directory, it did it! Thx!

Ok, so if you dragged from places they must be missing from there now right?
To restore the places shortcuts just go...

Click on desktop> Finder on menubar> Preferences> Sidebar.

VMWare Fusion 1.4 is sold, but it allows u to upgrade for free online
to version 2. Sadly version 2 has sound driver issues with Windows
and had me downloading earlier PCI 128 WDM Soundblaster drivers
before I finally forced thru an older version and then sound worked
in Windows.

I works great. I installed Win XP Pro with Adobe Photoshop and
it works great. Unity mode and non-unity mode works fine.
I made a new install not a Bootcamp one. The Windows does
not see your Mac though but you can share folders, those
need to be accessed by My Network Places in WinXP.

I can emulate 2 processors and give up to a max of physical RAM
to Windows, but have it as 1GB (out of 5GB total) and 2 processors
each reported by Windows as what they really are, ie Intel Xeon 2998MHz.
The Video adapter is reported as VMWare SVGA II but can go all
the way up to 2560 x 1600 or your native display resolution.
Haven't tried any 3D games, will try F.E.A.R later :).

I did have one issue with Fusion, when I forced thru the SoundBlaster sounddriver
upgrade Windows restarted and froze during the Shutdown process (Windows
u knows like 2 do that). Anyway there was no way to terminate
the virtual machine, the only command was Suspend, and that
returned the machine to a frozen state when I restarted Fusion.
I actually had to reset my Mac OSX, I guess I should have tried
to Terminate Fusion too. That really sucked, to have to kill
your host OS because your Windows froze up!

Now I have a new obstacle! Can you believe FNB's internet banking does not work on safari to do pmts! They have advised me to download mozilla! Opinions on this pls!

P.S. The Mango airline site only works with IE, I checked back in July. Very annoying.
 
I have as strange thing happening with mac mail. I imported all my emails with o2m, all perfect. BUT, some of the emails I send to people that I do not keep in my adress book (ie I type the out manually) have something strange going on, it autofinishes the email address, but then puts another name to it. Example, a certain person will send me an email, but when it arrives in my inbox, it says it is faxmail(mweb), or I type the address of someone, it keeps the address right, but converts it to a name, but it something completely different. It is driving me nuts, as I think I am reading one persons email (according to the name in the inbox), but its from someone else! Is there a way I can clear this 'history' that it seems to have jumbled up?

Steep lurning curve ahead, mail and other apps. have to wait for World of Warcraft to be sorted...
