Ok, will start with mac mail. Havent even installed Office for Mac yet. Will start by trying to backup Outlook, and see if that works. Will only be later this evening, so will keep you posted.

AGAIN, READ EARLIER POSTS!!!!

use thunderbird for mail conversion if u dont want to pay for 02m, mac mail can import directly from thunderbird db files.

I wasn't just referring to first time Mac User...

Perhaps she isn't as much of a dork as you (and we) are, and doesn't browse forums as much as you and i do..

Heck, perhaps she has terrible eyesight.. I dunno..I'm just saying, it wouldn't hurt to be a bit nicer. Could just give her the link of the post that she missed.. Or not say anything at all

Thx, I did read earlier posts. What meant was, once I downloaded it, installed it and imported my mail from outlook, where to from there?
 
The thunderbird files should be under c:/Documents and Settings/Application/Thunderbird.
Copy the entire directory onto the external, plug external into the Mac, open Mac mail and create your e-mail account if you have not yet done so. In Mail click on File - Import and browse to the directory on the External, select and start the import.

You won't have to do clean installs. ;)

Congrats - on the iMac - I have never looked back since I got mine and the macbook and the iPhone and the apple logo on the rear window of my car.

You're fresh off the windows boat arent you :D The only reason I do a download and install is so I can use it on other machines.

I got O2M in the end, after all that. I have different accounts and folders. Guess I shouldnt take a chance and mess it up. Wasnt that expensive, at R98? Just running real slow.

Mostly it is true but not always hey... my mac was running fine after each update but I still had the change network location issue, updating to 10.5.5 after a clean format and install fixed it for me.

What's running real slow? The import process or Entourage in general running slow?
 
The converting process of o2m on the pc. Think my inbox has a ton of stuff.
 
Just an update - converted emails with o2m, all working perfectly. Thx for the help.

Just doing last data backups, then pc shutdown!
 
I haven't read all the previous posts so forgive me if i repeat any information or if I've missed anything. I really like Mail and iCal, they do everything I need. My g/f and I both use Spanning Sync to keep our iCals the same (via Google Calendars). As far as Office software I've gone for iWork. It can open and save to MSOffice formats and again I've had no problems there. My only wish with iWork is that Numbers could do as many calculations as Excel even though I don't need them and that you could do formulas in Pages like you can in Word. If iWork doesn't suit your needs then look at Open Office. Ver 3 has just been released and I installed it earlier this week. It can do everything that MS Office can so you should be sorted. Anything to stay away from Microsoft.
