I think you misread our emotions - we are in a different market segment all together. The iPhone is a fashionphone made for people that needs a phone to be fashionable and carry a name that will make them look cool.
What I am interested in is a great alround device - like something from the N-Series range.
funniest statement ever mate.
try one for 6 months then come back to comment.
if your not too proud to admit your dead wrong that is..
But just to give you a heads up;
My N95 8gb and 5800xm have crashed so many times it can almost be called a feature. A sort of cache clearing if you will.
Calls drop.
Reception wavers.
And heaven forbid you try to open more than 2 things at the same time..
The cameras however are rock solid.
Iphone on the other hand has never dropped a call, never crashed during normal use, doesnt lose reception.
And with backgrounder and kirikae you can multitask till all you ram is finished.
Which, depending on the apps you've got open can be quite a bit.
On an iphone 3gs you can conceivably keep 5 to 8 apps open at the same time.
Push notifications make getting email exactly like a blackberry.
The web browser is unparalelled. (opera mini is cheaper but cant hold candles to safari mobile ITO fluidity and ease of use)
What about special features you say?
Hmm, I have a little app installed called air video, and a small server program on my pc.
I can stream all of my shows, movies etc to my phone via wifi with perfect sound and quality.
No conversion etc.
Just pure instant media streaming.
Which looks great on the 3.5inch screen.
I now watch something in bed till i fall asleep.
What about turning off the pc?
Jaadu VNC lets me login to my pc via wifi ala remote desktop.
I can view and control my pc from my phone!!!
Which means I can then shut down the pc as well, or if i've got a download running, I can check the progress.
Have you seen the facebook app?
Have you seen the news24 app?
Have you played Realracing Gti 2010?
What about Fifa10?
Goodreader is large pdf reader, I have 250mb pdfs that load and view flawlessly. (that stupid adobe app on my n95 could barely open an 8mb pdf and even then it stuffed up all the formatting)
Hmm.. So for the tradeoff of a better camera, there seems to be alot more useful stuff here hey..
The only negative? It will chew through data like a meat grinder does meat if your not careful.
This isn't the phone's fault though.
It's the cellphone networks for ripping us off for 3g data.
Any decent international iphone package has unlimited data....
In any event, try one for a while - really try one, get over the learning curve, jailbreak, install alot of apps, fool around with cydia etc, then comment away.
