So, these "holes" you speak of in the spec sheet. What are they? And why does the majority of the population not seem to care much about these so called "holes". Apparently, what the almighty Rouxenator considers a "hole" is not considered a "hole" by the majority of the population...
So I think when Apple's technical team has to decide - how should we do this feature? To Accommodate the almighty Rouxenator or the majority of the population? Guess which way they leaned ;)
But one drop in the ocean...

So they really install very few of all 200k apps available to them ?

Damn ou, is that all you had to say. I was waiting for like a massive reply - lol ;)

If you had to make a choice between buying two game consoles - would you purposely stay away from the one that had more games made for it? That's pretty weird...

Bru, I don't think someone is going to take iPhone over wii anytime soon :p

There is no app to make the camera on the iphone better, or to allow users to multitask 3rd party apps, or send files via bluetooth, or use the internal storage as a flash drive, and...and....and.... you know the rest.

By all means, if the high def video and 12mp camera are your priorities then that's the phone for you. No harm done...

Dude, yes the iPhone can play games but it's not a gaming console. I was comparing gaming consoles to each other, like the Wii, PS3, XBox etc...

I thought we went through the whole camera thing on your other thread? Let's break it down, to your average user (who knows very little about photography), a standard cellphone camera is more than adequate to take the odd happy snappy to MMS/e-mail to someone and to print the odd photo to stick on the wall. If anyone with a decent knowledege of photography wants to take a "real" photo they stay away from cellphones (and standard digital cameras). Then DSLR and Mediuam format are reallt the only options. So yes, 12mp sounds real impressive and all, but the average user who is gonna print a 10x15cm happy snappy is definitely not gonna see the difference between a 3mp or 8mp or a 12mp.

Regarding multi-tasking - again, do your research first!!! Backgrounder does allow you to multi-task. But then again, Apple has totally redesigned how to do efficient multi-tasking in the new iPhone OS 4.0 (because multi-taking on other phones just sux...)

Sending files through bluetooth, I thought that was restricted to ppl you use mxit - and they're all like 12 years old!! If you really HAVE to send someone a file - just mail it to them. That way your "not so clever ppl" don't have to get confused about when to mail a file (if the person is far) and when to bluetooth it (when the person is close). If someone is technical enough to understand that, then they are clever enough to download an app from Cydia to send files through bluetooth...

And many "average" ppl out there actually use their phones as flash drives?? If it's a geek who really has to, then download an app off Cydia that does that.

and...and...and...

I think Rouxenator is barking up the wrong tree here. If he really wants to diss the iPhone then go to it in the Nokia section, not in the iPhone section - ha ha ;)

  • I said wii , not ds.
  • No software is going to improve that crappy 3mp shooter.
  • Is that multi task app on app store? Why must I jailbreak and void my warranty if other phones do multitasking out of the box ? Only in OSX 4.0 - geez - we've been havin' it !
  • That is not a USB mass storage device - and there are tons of apps for Android/WinMo/Symbian to make file shares over wifi.

Stop making excuses for the iphone. Its a great fashionphone for they average Joe - nothing more and nothing less.

OK Rouxenator, you are not the average Joe, right? Well, the average Joe doesn't care much for the "bell curve" and "stats really was one of my favorite subjects". Whoopy!! You definitely do sound like a person that needs a real "nerdy" phone so that you can read a whole list of features to a chick - sure that'll turn her on.

My wife likes the FM transmitter and fluid UI in her N79 - if that counts for anything.

Shame, she's probably like one of Bill Gates's kids. They smile and act happy when their dad gives them a Zune for Christmas but inside they're really hoping to get an iPod instead to be cool like their friends and to just fit in. Ha ha - shame ;)

Anyways, I'm off. Good debate ;) We'll catch up again...

Above are examples of a brand obsessed with fashion (supernova???!!!! for the Casanova??? you got one Roux)? So obsessed that they've come up with shapes and designs of their very own. Flip phones, candy bar phones, phones shaped like flying saucers, phones shaped like game boys, phones that look like they look round corners etc etc etc

The mighty Nokia with their 6000 models unable to accomplish what Apple has with just 3 and that is uber coolness, uber functionality, the best UI money can buy...

Nokia has got different ranges aimed at different buyers. The 1xxx is ultra basic and cheap, the 2xxx is basic with some features. 3xxx is the cheap but expressive range, 5xxx is the active/music range (prior to x-series), 6xxx is classic business phones, 7xxx is fashion and experimental, 8xxx is luxury and insanely overprices, 9xxx was the communicators. E-series is for business, N-series for multimedia, X-series is the new XpressMusic range and C-series is the new classic range.

Its like when you buy clothes, there are different styles and ranges aimed at different people / occasions.

You know, this kind of reminds me many other things in life, I can tell you more about A-Class, C-Class, E-Class, M-Class and S-Class - also covering SLK, CLK, CLS models? Or how about 1-series, 3-series, 5-series, 6-series and of course 7-series? There are many differences between Lupo, and Polo, and of course Golf.

Sure, you can always just settle for a school uniform that complies with the latest regulations of the education department if you like looking like the rest and feel that is who you are and what makes you cool.

EDIT : On the topic of apps, how many applications in the apple store do all this in one : http://www.symvpn.com/Products/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductId=18 ?

Gotta remember here, the iPhone is made by Apple. Apple does not target the entry level market like Nokia. Just how Armani does not target the entry level market (they leave that to Pep).
So in other words - Apple does not target Rouxenator ;)
