i7 Build advice plz

The 4670 will still be a better choice. The 4650 won't even utilise all that memory.

Seeing as the standard P6T is the same price as the Gene II get the P6T SE :D

Get the standard P6T, its better than the SE. Also the 4670 is worth the extra money IMO. It has DDR3 while the 4650 has DDR2

I would really take a look at the MSI X58 Pro-E. Good board with excellent reviews and can be had for R600 less than the asus with very little or no sacrifice.

This Ram would also do very nicely, is cheaper than corsair and is CL7 to boot:

As far as I understand the PRO-E came out after MSI got their NVidia licensing kuk sorted out. Also I believe the standard PRO can be flashed with an SLI supporting BIOS as the SLI function is there but not enabled.

I may be mistaken though

Thanks...I am buying from Frontosa and they dont seem to have that MSI mobo. That asus is their cheapest i7 mobo :(

The RAM is the same situation :( I can only choose between Kingston and Corsair...Dammit

IIRC the MSI is cheaper at retail price than Asus' cheapest at supplier price.

Corsair and Kingston are top notch and pretty well priced. You could always register at another supplier... ;) :D

Get the MSI, I have the MSI X58m which does not support SLI, doesn't matter as I have an ATI card. You can even flash the bios the the PRO-E version and it will enable SLI, its just a bios constraint and not hardware. Spend the saved money on a 4850.

I'm gonna try pinnacle micro as well. I see they have the MSI mobo but I only have an old price list atm so I cannot compare.

I was going to get an ATI card so SLI is irrelevant to me. Do you think a 4850 512mb will be worth it or is it only really worth it at 1gb?

a 4850 512mb is definitely worth it vs a 4670. Unless you are gaming at 1920x1080 or up the 1GB will not make that much of a difference.
