iBurst Open DC++ Hub FAQ/GUIDE

The HUB IS ONLINE!

However take note that iburst is STILL having bad p2p (JHB) issues and this makes DC++ disconnect frequently HOWEVER it doesn't seem to affect download speeds and even when the hub is disconnected your downloads will continue.

Read the latest question on the main faq.

It's the same problem just a different symptom.

However you can connect to the secondary hub "ihub.kicks-ass.net" with less issues (but also less users) if you want. Not sure why it works better but I am sure these problems only appeared when iburst messed up our torrents.

sokay after a little wait i managed to log in...
just need to be patiant i guess..

what happend to the other Hub ?
hmm almost end of month need to finsh up some stuff :P

Both hubs are working finezies.

The second hub was down a little yesterday/this morning as the user who hosts it decided to go reformat happy.

Is the second hub accessible for us CPT guys? Cant seem to connect to it.

Just curious, besides its not like i get amazing speeds off you guys!

It should be accessible but the second hub is hosted on a jhb users machine so it's possible you might have problems.

Usually when I have problems connecting to it I just reset my modem, reconnect and it works.

Heh and you'd get more CPT users if you guys stuck around more often. Generally only 1 or 2 DEDICATED CPT users in at a time.

In other speed news though Durban DOES get the speedboost via JHB meaning all Durban and JHB users benefit from each other. (I've tested this with 2 diff Durban users)

In some sad news Jonty will no longer be able to host the hub and as such we're moving to a new server (which to my knowledge is) hosted by one of our members at the end of this month.

The new hub's address is ihub.kicks-ass.net

think i need to stay away :)
as soon as i login my poor pc gets it from all directions :)

Getting auto kicked

*** Connecting to katatafish.com:4482...
*** Connected
Alltime hub records: 14 users (Sun 10 Jun 2007, 10:50:07), 2.38 TiB of shared data (Sun 10 Jun 2007, 01:22:04)
<iHub> You were kicked from the hub because: Maximum share is 0 GiB. You share 216.98 GiB
*** Disconnected

any help?

Have you tried reconnecting since then? The MINIMUM share should be 5B and the Max no where near 0B. I could believe the hub owner made a mixup when doing the settings but then we'd all have been kicked for having more than a 0B share.

Been trying since yesturday - still having the same problems

<iHub> You were kicked from the hub because: Maximum share is 0 GiB. You share 216.98 GiB

when i take it to 0 - I get the minimum - is there a new hub addy or something?

I've been getting the same. First it redirects to that katafish address, and then the "Maximum share is 0B" message, followed by a few "Connection closed" messages when software tries to reconnect.

Who is the new owner, anyway?

I looked in the config and there was an issue where it weirdly changed the max share to 0B. The owner fixed it a few minutes ago so all should be working again.

New owner is a user who goes by the name "Karlie". Isn't on too much tho, but still generous to help everyone out.

Well other than my iburst account being dead, it seems the hub is fine and has been so for quite a while now.

Are you sure you're entering in the correct address? The katafish one?
