iBurst Speed Test Results

Could you indulge me by running a new speed test against http://speedtest.iburst.co.za and post that result? It goes to a problem I have at a particular site where speedtest.mybroadband just fails and http is all but useless, but iBurst's internal speed test shows rocking results (it's just unusable is all).

Iburst's speed test is not working at all. The page just doesn't load. I'd attempt a speed test with the dashboard but the modem is connected to a router. Iburst has been good to me for the past 6 or so years but as of late the speeds are horrendous. I called in awhile ago to see if there were any problems and after that it got better. It deteriorated again though. I'd love to get ADSL but my landlord doesn't even see the need for a telephone line in the house :D

iBurst 2Mbps (silver surfer) modem, panel antenna.

I have a question on the flux of my internet connection speed mostly to do with the radical change for morning hours of around 08:00 - 23:00 and the night time hours.

I'n the coverage area map I'm apparently sitting in a pretty good area for signal and after getting the 2mb desktop modem and a flat panel antenna extension I have managed on average around 0.4mbps - 0.7mbps during daytime hours but in night time hours get 1.0 mbps - 1.26mbps.

My question is is there a way to make my connection bandwidth be more the same during the day?

I do use this connection for gaming and during this holiday season I would like to take advantage of my time. I have also seen that I have, while downloading patches, gotten download speeds of 225KB/s so I'm sure there must be a way to make my connection more reliable?

I found LoS to tower best way to improve speed. If you on holiday, consider swapping to playing at night and sleeping daytime :)

Guys, rather than starting a new thread, what is a good average speed to get in Bloemfontein? I've got a normal 1MB desktop modem without a external antenna. The best I get after moving the modem around is an average download speed of only 0.11 to 0.14 Mbps. When looking at post #606 above I am far below standard it seems....
It is actually a very big difference and I would like to increase my speed if possible. What I can add is that my father do not get any faster downloads and he had a IBURST technician install a external antenna.
So why can some people get 0.89 Mbps which is 800%+ faster than me? While it was pointed out that 0.89 is slow, which I totally agree with, its still 8 times faster than I sit with now.

I thought Mbps is megabytes per second, then according to my results it seems my Iburst speed is quite normal.

No, Mbps is megabits per second and MBps is megabytes per second.
To make it worse, memory chip manufacturers and hard-drive manufacturers can't even decide on the capacity of a megabyte.

If you don't have a silver 2Mbps modem, 0.93Mbps is actually very good.

ginggs , is that on your LTE modem or old Iburst modem ?

LTE-A speed tests done this evening -
Standard Ookla Speed test between 20.45 and 21.00 in server order as appearing on Ookla for I-Burst 197.184.14.11

Can't say that it is impressive for LTE-A, especially where upload is better than download......
