I think the Steam updates must be hitting the P2P shaping, while the PS3 updates (HTTP) do not.

I'm not so sure bout these speedtest results.

I always get sub 1mb download and about 30kb/s upload when i do a speedtest, however... if i download or upload a file i max my 2mb modem with a download at 215kb/s and i get around 85kb/s upload.

It has always been like that.

I find I get the most consistent speedtest.net results from the Neology, Midrand server.

Hi iBurst

I stay in an area in Allens Nek, Roodepoort, Jhb with poor coverage. I have an iBurs Desktop Modem with iBurst Omni Antenna connected. The modem is also connected to a Belkin WiFi router with MTU set at 1392.

This weekend I did a couple of speed tests. The average result is:
Down: 209 kbps
Up: 230 kbps
Ping: 269 ms

What else can I do to try and get a better connection?

Thanks!

I just did the speedtest, not too bad i would say:

1.09 download 0.16 upload

Today, I did a simple test. iBurst vs Mweb. Wireless vs ADSL. Both are 1mbps connections. The cost of each is actually quite close, all things considered, though the Mweb option is uncapped and the iBurst is the Max25 package.

Benoni Area

As always, the iBurst speed tests done with a 1MB Desktop Modem connected to a Flat Panel Antenna. No background programs that could interfere are running, the MTU is set to 1392.

Mweb speed tests were done without me changing any settings, and I connected to the router through WiFi. Signal strength was 3 bar out of a potential 5 bars.

Here are the results:

Mweb:

1) Johannesburg server (speedtest.net)

2) New York server (speedtest.net)

3) MYBB Local Speedtest

4) MYBB International Speedtest

Iburst

1) Johannesburg server (speedtest.net)

2) New York server (speedtest.net)

4) MYBB International Speedtest

Question:
Why exactly am I with iBurst?
Answer:
The contract that will cost me in huge cancellation fees if I want out.

Hi iBurst,

I've sent the required information to the said email regarding the latency issue last week.
Donovan informed me that it would be investigated upon on Friday, 13 September.
I still have not received any feedback, and the latency/speed issue still persists.

Could you please do a follow up?
