Was that modem plugged into a tower?

From a tower it would be STM-1, and from the core STM-8. But we aren't allowed to do that...

I've edited this post a few times now, but I thought that I'd do things properly rather than posting a few speedtest results while bitterly complaining. Of course, I still have plenty of reasons as to why I can complain.

The speed tests were done using 1Mb Desktop Modem (with the latest drivers for the modem and for the dashboard), all connected to an Omni Antenna.
Oh, and before someone suggests that I adjust the MTU, disable QoS and do the rest of those little adjustments to improve my speed and such, I've already done it all.

I've had my computer try to download a game from Steam. In 8 hours, it downloaded less than 700Mb. I thought that this was 2012, not the 1990's ...
Sure, it would be easy to blame Steam, but that wouldn't explain why I didn't have this problem last year.
