Eh? I'm in roodepoort

They have electricity in roodepoort? oh how the times have changed, so if a backwards area like that can get signal, im sure everyone else should be able to ;)

Hmmmm, so it's not just me that think they did something?

This morning @ home connecting to northcliff I got 130kb/s on a multithreaded download

first time in months I could do that... either that or the people who got disconnected during their testing didn't bother reconnecting asap.

mmmm
Darn, what am I doing wrong? My BEST speed seems to be 20KBs....
Is it mybe because I have a UTC? (Although I show 100% signal strength....

divv, what's your UTC's FER (Frame Error Rate)?

I expect the problem could lie with upload signal strength, and not just limited to UTCs, I still have really bad speed with my UTD - major packet loss still happening.

i want your opinion on the difference btween the utd and the utc
Ahhhh, ic ic ic ic (no one you aren't the only no one with a good nick ;)).

I dunno, never had any experience with the UTC, but there are more than a few iBursters that have posted about exchanging their UTCs for UTDs due to signal problems or whatever. Obviously the UTC is compact & notebook/laptop powered, whereas the UTD is clunky & unlike the IPWireless modem doesn't have its own backup battery...

Noone, unless you want to exchange your UTD for a UTC, I would wait if I were you - Skeeve mentioned a company that will be producing iBurst hardware in competition to Kyocera, so that might be worth considering...

ic it seems to vary from 0 - 28%.

Bearing in mind that I have no idea about what I'm saying here, I think you have a problem with more than the acceptable range of frames being error[ed]. Perhaps the old Upload Signal Strength thing. Seriously though, I think WBS needs to comment on what is an acceptable FER%.
