Icasa messed up - it's that simple

The recent call termination rate court ruling shows that the regular’s lack of proper processes has dumped the telecoms space into another period of uncertainty

Debacle after debacle. The minister needs to call in the top management of ICASA and tell them to perform or move aside

How difficult is it to set call termination rates - tender for one consultant to do the international scan and for another to do the financial model. Give the operators workable deadlines for getting their information and build in the public consultation steps. A junior manager could do it in his/her sleep.

Again I say there is nothing wrong with the rates of

1st March 2015 = 15c
1st March 2016 = 10c

However given the Volume of money at stake , its fair and reasonable for MTN & Vodacom to delay the old rates and also challenge the process if a full stop was missing in the document.
I would go to extreme's if was CEO make no mistake about it.
After all who wants to lose money ?

Agreed 100% however this needs to be done from an efficient operators costing.
Most operators are inefficient anyway worldwide that why their costs are higher.
