'I'll teach you to **** off'

If you're going to take away the tools teachers have to discipline kids you'd better make sure they have other tools to work with.
This guy was clearly unsuited to dealing with the stress of handling a bunch of rotten little bastards but I don't think many people could deal with todays brats happily.
Point is this is the direct result of the bleeding heart liberalism that has ruined Britain.

Ride the bus in London when school is out and you find what little friggin turds English kids had become, even the really young ones....... I root for the teacher, he should've taken the little dick out.

Yes I am getting old and grumpy....**** off.

The annoying thing is that you employ these idiots and you get stuck with that attitude.

We have people that just did not pitch up for work today... oh sorry my transport did not work out.
So easy to blame everything and everyone but your own lazyness :(

Cannot believe how many people are advocating this kind of behaviour.

A 14 year old boy was beaten with a dumbell(FFS!) by a 50 year old teacher, fracturing his skull and you lot are all: yea some kids need a smack to stay in line.

Are you all high?

No, we say if corporal punishment was available, and teachers had authority, then the teacher wouldnt have snapped.

No one says that an attack with a dumbell is an appropriate punishment, rather that I'm sure both the kid and the teacher would rather he got a smack with a cane than a smack with a dumbell.

I'm afraid that you are patently wrong.

If teachers were equipped with the skills to reach and teach the children in their charge then beatings, whether by can or dumbell would not be necessary. That teacher snapped, you can blame that on nothing but the man in question. He should be prosecuted and punished to the full extent of the law, there is no excuse for behaviour like this.

How do you think it is that youngsters learn and become desensitised to acts of violence?

I definitely don't condone this behaviour, but I can understand it given the restrictions placed on teachers, and parents as well in terms of punishing their kids in the UK these days.

Friends kids who have been born and raised in that country have a serious attitude problem and get seriously put out when they visit me because I don't accept k@k like that in my household.....

Uh no, I'm afraid not. There have been many cases like this, where teachers have snapped because they have no authority over the children.

Like it or not, children need discipline in order to learn. Everyone would love to believe that their little angel will exhibit perfect behaviour without being taught about actions and consequences, but unfortunately that isnt the case. Teachers are supposed to facilitate learning in the classroom and instil discipline, both so that the children can learn self discipline but also so that classroom disruptions can be minimized.

Unfortunately, teachers are no longer able to do this in the UK. They arent allowed to even say no to a child. The child is always right, can never fail, or be expelled (only asked to leave, and they can refuse). They cant discipline at all.

This has nothing to do with skills, it has everything to do with liberal idiocy. In fact, I wont even say that corporal punishment is needed in the classroom. It probably isnt. But discipline is, and the UK has taken that way from teachers, leaving them with a classful of students who do their best to drive their teachers crazy, and being unable to do anything about it.

The act is wrong and will be punished but the long term causes of the climate in modern, liberal education will be ignored for the most part and the situation will probably just get worse.

Thats the real tragedy.

This was bound to happen. It isnt the first time a teacher has snapped and wont be the last. They remove any and all authority from teachers and expect them to be able to put up with the worst brats on the planet. Then the teachers snap and everyone wonders why.

If teachers had some authority, which may include corporal punishment, things would never have escalated to this level. Its only because the government thought his heinie was too precious to be smacked that he thought he could get away with murder, and pushed the teacher as far as he could.

Absolutely correct! The teacher lost it but the brat sounds like a real little ********.

+10

It's a pity the little scrotum did not die...or at least suffer some form of permanent brain damage...or bound to a wheelchair for life, desperately trying to keep his catheter from slipping out...

My condolences to the teacher...

It’s that kind of thinking which caused this incident.

+1 for the teacher.

Zero sympathy for the snotlap trying to be windgat.

I hope he gets off with a warning - let's see if anyone else tries their luck in his class again.

Yup, it was because of freaks like this that corporal punishment got banned.

Corporal punishment would have prevented this from happening.

Shyster kid gets outta line, whack! Then the bastard isn't able to so completely wear down the teacher that he snaps, and bashes his skull in.

My sympathy goes to the teacher here. That kid obviously had it coming. Discipline needs to be enforced incrementally. If there are "no boundaries" eventually the kid will find one- the one that lands him in prison in later life, or the one where he goads a teacher into bashing his skull in.

Boundaries need to be set and enforced. What else besides the cane will work?? Perhaps parents should be held liable for their kids or something, I don't know :o
