No, unfortunately for your warped view on reality.. Manners show people what kind of person you are, and the fact that you think manners are only used if you want someone to like you shows EXACTLY what kind of person you are.
Indeed. That is my intention.
Sometimes you want someone to believe you're a good, solid, dependable person. You might want a client to believe this, or an employer, or a judge. To these people, the intelligent person shows impeccable manners.
Sometimes, however, you want someone to believe that you're dangerous, unpredictable, perhaps sociopathic even... Sometimes its easier to get people to do what you want them to if they are scared of what you might do to them.
To your friends and loved ones, you adopt neither of these farcical approaches, unless you really are a sociopath. To your friends and loved ones, you are honest.
