Havent checked. But I will have to eat a lot less bacon going forward. Getting hard to lose the last few kilos.Have your cholesterol levels changed at all?
I got chucked in the deep end since moving to Portugal. I was used to a litre of cola every single day in SA but this is embarrassing here. I always wondered why I was stared at in disgust when walking around town with a soda can until I was told that the Poras do not drink sodas due to the high sugar content. Actually the Fanta Orange here is great as it is not as sweet as the SA ones.
The hypermarkets here only put out their tiny soda fridge out in summer for the fat Pommy tourists. ( Locals are very trim)
The chunky bread here does not have any sugar, sucrose, molasses, coloring or preservatives. Only lasts 1 day though.
We have pubs but most people drink coffee there but don't expect to be given sugar. You will have to ask for it.
The cafes serve food but don't expect tomato sauce or chutney for your chips as you will not get it.
I have gotten used to it over the years and we do not even buy sugar for home at all. We have both lost weight.
Can you get me a job? This sounds delightful?
And hairy...But pal, if you are single, I would suggest you get your arse here as there are many more chicks than men and they are soooo sexy.
It is not just Woolworths. EVERYONE. I emailed them once asking why they have to add corn starch to their soups. They're very paleo unfriendly and it is ridiculous. They will remove sugar from something and then hike up the price.
So OP how is the war going? losing yet?
And hairy...
The only pre-prepared foods I buy from Woolworths is their salads (and a select few). Rather just make your own food or buy Fit Chef.
I REALLY WANT TO BUY FOOD FROM FIT CHEF but I cannot bring myself to pay R60 for Spanish Chicken and Brown Rice that is P15 C15 F14. That would never fill me. That is 60g of chicken? R60 could buy me 500g of free range chicken. No thanks.

What is "P15 C15 F14"? I am not a body builder. I just try to eat as clean as I can. I don't see how Fit Chef will ever meet the needs of a body builder. Fit Chef meets the needs of a clean and calorie restricted diet. I have a friend who was on Fit Chef for 3 months and dropped 17kgs with training twice a week (intensive HIIT training for 60 minutes each session). It's a good way to easy dieting. All the hard work of preparing and planning is done beforehand. I don't like Fit Chef as I have a passion for cooking and prefer fresh foods over frozen.
So, a bit OT. I really need a protein supplement. I am battling with protein sources in a big way. What is a high quality whey protein? I will probably have 2 shakes per day / mix it into my breakfast. I am trying to keep my protein intake up so I don't lose too much muscle while I am dieting.
And, sean, does your war on sugar include avoiding fruit as well? Or you just avoiding all refined sugars?

And, I cannot vouch for the content of Fit Chef meals. I am purely going on what I have read and heard from others.
How many grams of protein are you trying to get in a day? While I'm not the biggest fan of supplements, the only one I would go for is MyProtein (they just opened up shop in SA ). They are fully transparent when it comes to ingredients used and are currently running a 25% discount for all South African orders - http://myprotein. If you don't mind mixing your own take a look at bssa.
I'm not avoiding fruits at all. Only avoiding refined sugars. So if it's not natural, I won't have it. (I'm also trying to reduce my sugar cravings so I haven't had honey or any artificial sweeteners) I somehow managed to put it into my head that I'm also avoiding refined carbs (Which I'm also happy about).

That myprotein stuff - do you mean they can ship from SA now, and not the UK? Also, that 25% off at the moment makes it quite an attractive offer. Looking at getting some protein an BCAA's. They also have like 50 flavors for the protein
I definitely wouldn't buy it if it were being imported, because of those costs. But, Sean did mention that they have opened up a SA branch, or something along those lines. So if it were coming from SA , there wouldn't be those costsYeah you get like 25% off your purchase I really wanna try their salted caramel whey.
But imagine. Your shopping under £120 is £10 shipping fee. Even if you exceed £120 and it's free and SAY for example you spend 2000 ZAR. When those products arrive you pay 45% plus 14% on that. It's expensive.
