I'm going to war!!! With sugar.

I definitely wouldn't buy it if it were being imported, because of those costs. But, Sean did mention that they have opened up a SA branch, or something along those lines. So if it were coming from SA , there wouldn't be those costs

They do have a "South African" store that ships straight from the U.K. excluding duties. I've called the U.K. Number to confirm a while back I even asked randoms on Instagram and they too confirmed the duties.

Ahhh, okay thanks. Darn, was good value, but that'll just make it too expensive then

Damn I didn't know there were still import duties

Orders with a delivery address outside the UK may be subject to import duties and taxes (including VAT) which are levied once a delivery reaches your destination country. Any such additional charges must be borne by you.

I wish I had the balls to try out my protein products but the tax when it arrives will bit me in the arse? what about Nutritech? The blander flavours are easily blended.

When I tried Nutritech Whey before I hated the taste. It tasted like sour milk.

I am not a bodybuilder either. I am pretty active though and a FitChef meal would be very very small most of my meals are about 500 calories. I too enjoy making food and I am able to make more nutritious meals with the same value that FitChef is trying to provide. Yes, it is convenience but it does not even take that long to make a clean meal nowadays, clean cooking is easier that dirty meals?

Picking up takeout is always the easiest option. Yes, the actual cooking of the meal does not take too long. The problem is putting the thought into what to prepare, purchasing all the ingredients and then actually preparing the food.

I prepare a lunchbox on a daily basis which generally has the following: plain/greek yogurt with nuts and a tsp of honey, 2 x fruits, 20g of biltong, a salad with some protein source and carrots/cucumbers/celery to keep hunger at bay (I get my ideas from Pinterest). I will have two cups of coffee a day with stevia. Dinner is generally a recipe I find adapted for a calorie / clean diet. All of that takes time and effort especially when working long hours and then trying to get in training. I don't even want to imagine how parents get it all done.

My diet is very low in calories, and full of fresh foods. For others that are not restricting calories or need more protein, I am sure putting together daily meals takes quite a bit more effort.

seanyp00h, I am trying to get around 100g of protein a day. Not even getting close.

That's why I always say, you can't put a price on time. Hence why I didn't even blink when I bought a dishwasher.

I also struggle to get in enough protein. I need about 170g of protein a day.
Chicken fillets, eggs, flax powder are my main sources of protein. I need to add lentils or something to get even more protein.

I'm chatting with Myprotein now via email to get the lowdown. I could see myself heading up distribution for Myprotein SA :D

I would avoid that. Eat fresh food only. For lunch I usually buy a salad from the canteen or some fruit salad from the local Tesco. If I get hungry, I have some walnuts in my drawer at work. In the evening I will bake a piece of chicken or fish. I try not to eat more than 200g at once. This helps to keep stomach size down. I have found with this eating regime, I can even have the occasional bit of cake(I baked a delicious coffee cake the other day. Ate 2 slices, 1 per day for tea, and took the rest to work where I became a hero instantly), or a boerie roll, with proviso that the quantities are never big. Stick to the 200g limit(or whatever your limit is). I have also starting eating using a side plate instead of the usual large plate.

I am sure these other products are a load of rubbish and in the long run do more damage than good.

That holds true for most of the supplements out there. Hence why I said that I only give Myprotein a thumbs up as they are one of the most transparent supplement companies out there. Even their branding is low key and straight to the point, unlike others with crazy colours and stupid names like Mass Builder 3000 or preworkouts with names that sound like they can fuel a nuclear plant.

Please share the coffee cake recipe :)

I created a quick video after watching one about comparing yourself to other peoples "perfect" pictures. A little Wednesday motivation I guess.

I agree what Greg says to an extent. But look at him. He has great genetics (I know we had a conversation about metabolism but that is different), he is good looking, extremely rich. It is so easy for him to say - oh love yourself (and he does love himself). Unfortunately, he is unrelatable to most people. Where if a real average joe said, hey LOVE YOUR SELF maybe then I could relate more.

Day 1 done and dusted! It went really well except for the fact that I realized nearly everything in my fridge contains added sugar. I've always been happy to eat chicken and veggies each day, as long as I can add some mayo to my meal. Of course that contains added sugars too. So my meals were bland as can be yesterday. Need to make some time and prep some tasty meals this weekend

Bring on day 2!!!

Great stuff man.. i also need to get into this now. Feel the same as what you did, ie waking up tired, and not in great shape. Time to make some changes

You make a good point. But is he now "unrelatable" because you are comparing yourself to him?

I try avoid the mirror and not focus on my weight, but rather my overall health. The weight loss and definition will naturally come.

I have now been free from processed foods and sugars for two weeks. First week was hell. Had daily headaches, was feeling very flat and was just generally miserable. All cravings for junk food and sugary snacks have passed. This week I feel like I have more energy, I am sleeping very well and my pants feel a tad bit looser. My training could be better, but I am happy with my progress in light of my calorie restricted diet.

The biggest adjustment has been trying to choose healthy/healthier food and drinks while out with friends. That's the real test imo.

Congrats! It really is those first 7 days that you need to push through. After that it's easy sailing.

To be honest I don't think I've eaten out the past 24 days simply because of this. Last night I went to family for dinner and took my own meal with so that I didn't inconvenience anyone.
