That's it. AFAIK it works in the native sms app. When you send a message to a recipient who is also using iMessage the send block will be in blue indicating message sent via iMessage and not network text (Green)..Hi Guys
Has anyone managed to figure out how to get iMessage to work? I have enabled it under Message options but each time I go into messaging I dont get the iMessage screen, only the sms screen.
Thanks for the response guys, Ive sent a message to a collegaue who is also on IOS 5 but they appear to be going through as sms's. I dont get the iMessage screen after doing this. Highly confused.
Check iMessage is turned on in Settings > Messages.
Definately turned on but Nada. Have any of you got it working?
Yes. Maybe your colleague hasn't then. You can try and iMessage me quick at admin(at)iphoneza.co.za to test if you wish.
Thanks Fxitman. I dont get the iMessage option at all. Will PM my email address to you.
Thanks for the input guys, figured it out, I had to first email the other contact with the email address he had set up in iMessage and after that I got the iMessage options.
Just create it like a normal message. The name should turn blue if the recipient is on iOS5 and has iMessage activated.
I had initially texted him from my contacts and then using his mobile number, for some reason they were going through as sms's. I then sent him an email through messages (not mail) and it turned blue and it gave me the iMessage options.
