Immigrating to the UK

Forgot to update but the Irish immigration got back to me and said they'd updated my status so no renewing of IRP is needed.

As for my sons UK citizenship application, he has his biometrics appointment in Germany in 2 weeks time, so I have to pop over for that, but that should be that sorted after a few months wait.

Next on the list is to look into getting Irish citizenship through the foreign birth register.
 
I'm just impressed people don't report each other for such name-calling.

For that to happen you need to start making cogent arguments.

Did you do priority?

I did on mine and was arrived within an hour after biometrics. But outside UK I think it’s longer.

Its the priority processing to reduce the 90 days down to 30 days. Cost £500 for that lovely little service. R470 to have her passport delivered to her and another R20 to get an SMS when the decision is made.

Lloyds let the IHS fee, the VISA application fee and the VFS Global passport courier fee go off but then blocked the £500 for priority processing. Had to sit on the phone for 15min while they removed that block. So £5250 going out is fine, but that last £500 was just the straw that broke the camels back. LOL

I paid around £1k for priority. Was worth it tbh.

that was the 24-48 hours service? VFS Global in SA only offers the 30 day service, so I took what I could get. She wants to be here for my birthday, but I will settle for having her here in my birthday month (Oct)

Yeah it’s only available inside the uk. You may have a decision sooner than 30 days.
