I am sure you are not in control, but you can advise them about customer perception, so that they can make the correct decision. Anyway, I am just glad it is free. Now I just need to get either 3G or EDGE working at home.

It's a subscribed APN I'm not sure which ports are open I will advise ASAP

If you don't already know what you need for an unrestricted APN for, you're probably better off without it.

Firstly, you probably wouldn't need it for your phone, only if you're connected to with a PC. Things you can do with an unrestricted APN: host your own web server, mail server or ftp server, or allow incoming connections to your peer-to-peer or gaming software, or remote administration.

Bear in mind that opening up for incoming connections when you're paying per megabyte is probably not such a good idea.

Mychoice Topup 75 and VPN

HI DD, Is it true that mychoice topup subscribers are not entitled to access the VPN of MTN? I was told so by a call centre operator. Please help?

Yes it is true as Mychoice top up on the system is under the PPAS system so it falls under prepaid even though it's treated as a contract

MTNDD , i need to get a 3g backup running for when the ADSL goes down, i will need access via the APN for a few services. What do you reccomend i get , package wise. I plan to use about 1-2 GB per month, or there abouts.

Well we have a promo running at the moment if you take the Extended Data contract with the E220 or E620 @R479 for 24 months then you get the 1GIG package with 1 GIG free for 24 months I would suggest you get that

There's a once off payment for your sim and connection fee

VPN apn?

Whats happened to the "mtnvpn" apn? :confused:

When it first came out it worked for me.. and now it doesn't anymore (on the same sim)?

Have the rules been changed?
