Inbound Connections / Unrestricted APN (Now Testing!)

On the line for the second time with Cell C to try and find out what the hell is going on,if I have any joy will relay feedback, on your your side hopefully nothing to serious

No joy, got cut off again,no feed back- got as far as the techie's that are manage the APN's do not work over the weekends then the line went dead.................Cell C strikes again!!!!!!!

I have just tried connecting to the 'unrestricted' APN and was able to establish incoming connections, my IP address was 41.55.248.128.

Hope you get sorted tomorrow when the "APN Techs" are back in the office.
Not too happy that no one can help with APN issues over the weekends.
(even though it is a test phase and the disclaimer on the application form is noted)

I'll keep my Vodacom unrestricted APN Sims handy as a backup.

Just out of interest, I tried a SIM card that is not activated for 'unrestricted' and was able to connect, although I got a 41.51.x address, so was not really on the 'unrestricted' APN.
I then tried an intentional spelling mistake and change the APN to 'inrestricted' and was still able to connect.

Lol! Just for fun, I set the APN (SIM provisioned for unrestricted) in my TP-Link MR3420 router to "mickeymouse" and got IP 41.49.24.66 and was able to connect and surf the web. (no inbound obviously)

I have been in contact with core.
awaiting feedback, please i ask for your understanding.
It is in test phases.
We are all running around trying to get it up XBox need it working hahahaah
I think it had have some thing to do with the updates loaded to help the Wahtsapp and Gtalk issue.

Cannot access my two unrestricted APN CCTV sites 41.55.x.x from my Cell C HTC, when on 197.x but does work when I'm on 41.x

Its very difficult to have patience when i cannot log onto xbox live at all with the normal cell c profile. Only the unrestricted apn seems to work. Of course it had to happen as soon as i picked up Gears 3.....

Did you get any feedback as to why your specific access to the unrestricted APN was not working?
Had your number/SIM been removed from the access list maybe?

Both mine have been fine the whole time, except for this access from the 197.x range problem, that has suddenly cropped up again.

Did a bit of testing around this 197.x IP range access issue.

This was a very time consuming and tedious procedure trying to get 197.x range addresses among all the 41.x addresses for testing.

The following 197.x IP addresses DID NOT allow access to the unrestricted APN 41.55.x.x or freeverse.com(but ok on a few other websites tested):
197.104.76.193
197.106.133.103
197.107.1.165
197.106.253.164

The following IP addresses DID allow access to both (and other websites):
197.171.36.76
197.170.74.15
197.168.91.198
197.170.163.1

Can you see the pattern in the second octet of each address?
Wonder why there is a difference in access between the lower and higher second octet ranges?
Is the 197 range divided somehow, with different configs applied?

Hope Cell C's network specialists will be able to make sense of and resolve this, without interfering with the Gtalk, etc. timing issues.

Ok, I was on a call with CellC last night, and had it confirmed that there was absolutely no unrestricted APN at present as it was in beta.

How do I go about getting this if not through tech support?
