Already filled in that form (on 23rd January) and was awaiting details from CellC, also want to know price. Afrihost said they would need to supply a new SIM but don't want to change unless there is no other option
Why would they charge for the unrestricted APN, Vodacom doesn't?

+1 There shouldn't be an extra charge for the unrestricted APN. All they doing is allowing incomming connections, so you still using whatever data is on the account/number.

Have customer who wants to view his cameras on his phone and since he is a CellC customer, contacted them to get an Unrestricted APN

First call - (You do not get to speak to anyone unless you enter a phone number)
Enquiry - need an unrestricted APN please
Cell C - what is your phone no
Supply phone no
This is not a CellC number
No, the person for whom it is for is a CellC customer and needs an unrestricted APN
What is that
Explain it
I do not do that
Then transfer me to someone who does
You must phone again
Why
I do not do that
What number must I call
0841555

Start all over again
Yes, we can give you this unrestricted APN, will email you form
What is the fee
The form must be filled in

10 days later, no form
We will send you the form by email

Form arrives 2 days later
Reply, asking for fee

3 days go by, someone phones me, what am I wanting
I tell them
But you are not a Cell C customer
Explain it all again
What fee do you need
I say look at the heading of the email
I do not have email she says
I reply, saying I need to know the fee for an Unresricted APN
I do not know she says

Hang up and send email again

2 days go by and I get another call
Hello, how are you she says
What is it you want
I explain again
What is your number, street address
No, you are not CellC customer
I explain again

Price depends on what data package you are on
What are they I say
Only one data package for pre-paid
Why did you ask I say

So, what is the price I ask, and I want an answer in writing please, since you have the tendency of charging more for a service and then telling me I was mistaken

I DO NOT KNOW she says

Give up with CellC and tell customer to get a Vodacom package for his phone

Hi @chrisc, thank you for posting to us. Kindly PM us your Cell C number, contact number + email address. This would be the details of the person needing assistance with unrestricted APN. Alternatively, you can forward your query + contact details to [email protected] ^BM

Is it possible to just edit the .pdf form on my PC, take a photo of my ID with my cell phone and email it? Seriously I don't have a printer/scanner. My Steam games that use Steamworks is now unplayable and can only join dedicated game servers (so no more playing most coop games with friends).

Is this still a thing? ...or Is this now enabled by default, does it still have to be 'activated' manually?

Reason I ask is I have a remote network I need access to, used to be on an adsl line but since swopped to LTE modem. have configured dyndns on the router but am unable to ping it... is this due to the APN?

The lte modem a router? with ports that maybe blocked.

And yes the APN is still a thing you need to contact them and fill in a form

Hi @ MockTurtle

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Please note that it has to be done manually by our Technical team. Kindly PM us your Cell C number & email address, we will assist with the process.

Hi Deranged_9n3

Please provide us with your email address so that we can send you the application form which you need to sign and return together with your ID copy.

I went through the process of requesting unrestricted APN for my CellC prepaid. Why it is not provisioned for by default I don't know. Anyway, the activated it but my router shows one IP address and my DDNS reports a different one. How can this be? It is still not working after numerous emails. Anyone had this issue before?

if you are going to host something on your home PC let us know about it on the forum

This is not as simple as what cell C would like you to believe.
Firstly you have to sign a form they send you. Then it takes around two weeks and then they inform you that they also need a certified copy of your ID. I mean really, this is pathetic. I finally told them to shove it as setting up a VM on a platform such as digital oceans and setting up a VPN server & setting up all routing my side will certainly be quicker and less effort involved. (Also will be the only way i will meet the expected deadline for the project im working on)

Took me 2 days on my side. Done and dusted

Cell C: unrestricted APN

Is there any way that I can check whether Cell C sim card is actually provisioned for unrestricted apn on the cell c network?

Port forwarding on CELL C LTE Service - Unrestricted APN

Good evening all

What is the process one needs to follow to get a unrestricted APN to allow port forwarding on Cell C LTE.

Saw some sort of form, but unable to find it.
