What is exactly IP address you receive on router's WAN interface?
Disregard the last section if privacy concern.
 
I had issues with another provider's unrestricted APN, in the end I gave up and used an Afrihost SIM. Their APN is completely unrestricted from the start. Not trying to bad mouth Cell C or others, it just proved more trouble than its worth attempting to get it sorted.

Maybe you have better luck.

I am going after price atm. My current setup is too expensive to what Cellc can offer hence the test sim I have from Cellc. Pity about the red tape around the APN though.
 
I am sorry to say that CellC cannot even get unrestricted APN going. 2 weeks now. This test run went down very bad. Guess you get what you pay for...
 
Hi can any help me I have the unrestricted APN but I'm still unable to connect to my VPN my VPN uses port UDP 9201

hey there, taking forever for someone to unrestrict the apn for me on my sim. can anyone else help or a back end method to do this myself?

strict nat is killing me
 
Got unrestricted APN but ports still closed

Really frustrating. After filling in the request unrestricted APN form, having to visit the local SAPS to get my ID certified, the IPs are now the same on "what is my IP" and no-ip.com, thanks a lot CellC.

But now, the ports are still closed. When I pop in my MTN afrihost SIM everything works ok, but not on CellC.

Anyone with suggestions that had this same problem and got it fixed ?

CellC managed to fix it for me now. Just have to keep on emailing and pushing back until it works. At least I can speak to a human and get a reply to an email from CellC. Cannot say the same of Vodacom.

Getting an unrestricted APN

Have customer who wants to view his cameras on his phone and since he is a CellC customer, contacted them to get an Unrestricted APN

First call - (You do not get to speak to anyone unless you enter a phone number)
Enquiry - need an unrestricted APN please
Cell C - what is your phone no
Supply phone no
This is not a CellC number
No, the person for whom it is for is a CellC customer and needs an unrestricted APN
What is that
Explain it
I do not do that
Then transfer me to someone who does
You must phone again
Why
I do not do that
What number must I call

Start all over again
Yes, we can give you this unrestricted APN, will email you form
What is the fee
The form must be filled in

10 days later, no form
We will send you the form by email

Form arrives 2 days later
Reply, asking for fee

3 days go by, someone phones me, what am I wanting

But you are not a Cell C customer
Explain it all again
What fee do you need
I say look at the heading of the email

So, what is the price I ask, and I want an answer in writing please, since you have the tendency of charging more for a service and then telling me I was mistaken

Give up with CellC and tell customer to get a Vodacom package for his phone
 
Already filled in that form (on 23rd January) and was awaiting details from CellC, also want to know price. Afrihost said they would need to supply a new SIM but don't want to change unless there is no other option
