Hi there Has there been any news from Cell C over the Open nat issue, I play games online with Xbox live and I had open nat for a whole weekend after redoing my network, but by Monday afternoon it was back to moderate for some reason, no changes to my system was made so all ports are still open, the ports must be closed on cell c side for some reason then.
 
Hey guys, sorry for the delayed response (esp to PM's) over the last two weeks. Unfortunately I was out of the country.

The test phase of the unrestricted APN is currently underway and I don't think theres a need for any more testers just yet. I'll pop a message on this thread as soon as the core network guys are looking for more testers.

GOW3 is arriving shortly!!!! XboxLive NAT is still strict or on most days moderate- black-ops I can get a game in time, however not on GOW 2

So how do I become involved, desperately need to get unrestricted. I have been battling with Xbox Live since the network became live in my area which took 7 months, so you can imagine how frustrated I am.The only partly successful game I can get a game on is Black OPS the rest is a no go. Please assist,I do not want to be a tester just an open NAT!
 
Do you have any idea when this will happen? Or should I expect the same empty promises that we got for the network.
 
I need this for remote CCTV surveillance purposes. The CCTV PVR connects to a Netgear 3G router which already has SPF firewalling enabled so I don't care about security in this regard, but can see that many users with laptops would need to worry about security. Although, most people with laptops these days would probably run Windows 7, or at least Windows XP - both of which already have an active firewall running.

So at the moment everyone is getting onto the internet with 1 IP 10.xxx? because I can see a 41.xx ip with them as well.
What I mean is to have incoming you will need a static because how are people going to reach you?
Other method is a connectivity service with server port forwards. Tunnels are bi-directional
 
Hey guys and @human.debris, after reading this post yesterday I decided to take a stab @ the cell c call centre and see what I get from them, 1st gota say I'm not so clue'd up with networks n stuff but anyways the call centre agents we're really friendly and helpfull suprisingly.. -->so I got to the techy dep. N a women there said " sir actually a lot of people have the same issue and purchased the speedstick for games , as far as I know there isn't 1 available but I'll just go off to my superiours n check as there has been talks about it" wrt to the unrestricted apn,so after a bit she got back n said "on the internet apn they are currently allowing it to be unrestricted at times,we can't say when because they are experiencing problems but it does work from time to time".... Basically seems they are close to rolling it out. Then I thought I'd ask if they could open up certain ports only n reason was for my ms xbox n she said sorry we don't troubleshoot pc problems just the speedstick, LOL ...sat night I had an Open NAT but 2 hours later moderate NAT according to my xbox 360.

I'm sure you are being flooded with a huge amount of queries with regards to the Unrestricted APN.

My request to you is ,is it at all possible if you could update myself and all that are patiently waiting customers for unrestricted APN - as to the status of the testing, an approximate date as to when it will be completed and most importantly as to when we the consumers will have access to unrestricted APN.
The most annoying thing is when we phone the tech dept we get the same thing ever week or month, they are still testing or some other scripted answer!

Do not keep us in the dark, please give us feed back I think Cell C owes us that much.
NB:- Trying to get a game on xbox live using Cell C is a real ball ache!!!
