Internet hangs when phone is used

Hey all. Every time Im using the internet (ADSL: Telkom Line, Nashua Cap) and the land line phone is used (incomming call or outgoing) The internet will hang for 1-2 minutes, it won't load anything! can anyone help me please, this is bloody anyoing
 
Make sure you have a adsl line filter installed on the phone line..
 
ADSL line filture... shouldn't I have got that with the other ADSL stuff?
POTS filter?
 
i have the same problem only when my wife is talking on skype and then i have trouble on my pc but it only started a few months ago.

Had the same problem last week...contacted Telkom and the techie was here in superfast time....traced the problem to a underground cable...and replaced something on the distribution pole...its now sorted...

Had that issue a few years back, also suspected the POTS filter but if I understand correctly how that works, it actually blocks the ADSL signals for your phone, not the router, hence why the pots goes to the phone and the line goes direct to your router.

What my issue was is that the copper cable I was on from my exchange was not able to sustain the minimum required voltage when both were being used. It would drop to a reading of 47V? I think, and this would cause the adsl to not sych. He swopped my cable at the exchange and I ran fine thereafter.
 
I mforgot to say: The internet only hangs for 1-2 minutes, even if the phone is still being used, which is weird....

I agree with this. Best bet is to get Telkom to come have a look at the line.
 
Anyone know where I can get QUALITY pots filters? I'm going through mine faster than my toilet paper.
