Internet resounds with Gmail telephone calls

Internet telephone capabilities added to Google's free Web-based email service in the United States appeared to be a hit on Thursday, with more than a million calls logged in the 24 hours after launch.

when will they bring google voice to SA? When they do bring it here will it land up being cheaper to use them than a normal cell call?

Ja, it was there for two days... but definitely gone now.

Mine still there (inside my gtalk/chat contacts box) , but i had to install this plugin:

http://www.google.com/chat/voice/

I assume if you turn of "chat" inside gmail you won't see this phone thing either, since it seems part of the chat plugin.

Mine appears on 1 or the 2 Gmail addresses i have.. Weird.
