If it says iOS 4.0, then you HAVE the latest firmware. Serious dude, you should sometimes use your brain.

Understandable.....but think about this. If Apple went and change the firmware again, then all the devs would have to get the modified firmware first for a month, before Apple can release it, otherwise their apps might not work.

I'm pretty sure you have exactly the same firmware as the version you can download from Apple's servers now. Trust me. Seriaas.

I'm wondering about iBooks - maybe it was not in the GM release - will check if it is available on the iTunes Store.

EDIT: Yup, there is is - under updates!!!

Now, do I restore to the release version.....decisions decisions!

Yes, but can only be accessed from iBooks on the device (not from iTunes on your computer)...

Yes it is linked - you buy books via the iBooks app on your iPhone and can be synced to iTunes

Well it's not EXACTLY the same. Redsnow works witht he GM firmware, but not with the firmware released today. So obviously something is different...
