iPad 10.5 Pro (2017) random reboots

Sounds like it's a hardware issue. Unfortunately you gave the iPad back, but if you go into analytics you can search for any panic logs - Apple devices create these logs to assist in fixing them.

You can then run the panic log into panic log analyzer (you can download it from github). Any reason why you didn't take it to the iStore?

I'd assume whomever is attempting the repair is running the prerequisite diagnostics.

Definitely a hardware issue, as stated at the beginning of the thread.

iStore I assume they'd want to sell me a new one before making an honest attempt to repair a broken one...

That's interesting, how do you access a devices analytics?

When it comes to service providers never assume anything other than there's a good chance they are lazy/useless/lying.

Settings->privacy and security->analytics & improvements->analytics data. You can then search for panic, it will show you effectively blue screen of death restarts

So after confirming telephonically that it was back from cape town I went past to collect my iPad.

Apparently it wasn't in the batch of items that were delivered after all.

So closing in on a month of back and forth, up and down and still no iPad. Unrepaired or not...

School fees, unless it's a rudimentary battery change I wouldn't bother with these guys for repairs. You been warned.

So I phoned the donkeys this morning to find out if the iPad is ready for collection. Guess what, it is apparently still in Cape Town!! F uck me!!!

Who's the CEO? Sean Joffe? Let me tweet him and see if that makes any difference. Usually the fish rots from the head down...

So my iPad was ready for collection today, along with this final piece of feedback.... 5 weeks to the day....

Good day

Hope all is well.

I spoke to you on Friday evening with regards to your Apple iPad Pro 10.5. Again, I would like to apologise for the service you have received, fully appreciate that it was far from ideal and definitely not what we strive for.

I did try and call you yesterday and today.

As explained on Friday, I had our senior technician attempt to get the device working but unfortunately the processor of the device is faulty and overheating, this is causing the power issues with the unit. Unfortunately this cannot be repaired or replaced. I sincerely was hoping that we could turnaround your experience.

The iPad has been sent back to our Melrose Arch branch and it out for delivery today.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Regards

So it went from just rebooting to completely dead now?

Or is it the same state it was before? Did they refund you?

Same state as before, well, it now has a strange small aberration at the bottom of the screen. I was going to say something, but there really is no point whatsoever!!

R250 non refundable assessment fee... so no, they didn't refund me...

Yeah that’s some bullshit if they wanted to change your mind at least waive the fee for their failure to make anything at all happen.

Seems fair. You had the option to take it or not.
They should also have mentioned the 5 week turn around time, the likelihood that they would tell me it's ready for collection when it wasn't, the likelihood that they would tell me it's repairable and quote for said repair when it wasn't, that I would get it back with a marked screen... if I had known that I probably would have declined their "service"...

I had to phone them to chase them up on the repair EVERY TIME, twice they made me go to the store to collect when it wasn't ready.

The fish rots from the head down, I tweeted the CEO Sean Joffe, thinking perhaps he might take some pride in his company and work. F uck all response, dololo, zero, nada.. Zero f ucks given....
