iPad Pro 12.9" (2015 model) - yay or nay?

I'm currently using the original iPad Air 1 which is starting to show signs of slowing down so am looking for an upgrade. I have a friend who is selling the original iPad Pro 12.9 (2015 4G model) for around R8 500. Do you think it's worthwhile and will the A9X chip still be able to keep up over the next few years seeing as they are already on the A12 chips now?

I can't comment on the price, as I'm not up to date with second hand market values of iPads, but as for the device itself, I'm sure it will serve you well for a few years still. I have the 9.7" model (also with the A9X chip) and (especially with iOS 12), it is still lightning fast and performs brilliantly.

I also upgraded from the Air and the difference in performance between the two is huge.

Mine is still going strong.

Will be upgrading to 3rd gen ASAP, and selling mine on, but honestly - if you can get a good price, and don't yearn for the latest/greatest - this is still a good device.
