iPhone 15 Rumours & Release Date

Played for about 40 mins, pretty impressive I have to say, I am not a big gamer (unless its GTA, lol). I cannot believe what is being achieved within these phones sometimes, however physics is still not on their side, both in terms of heat and battery.

Verdict:
As a mobile device enthusiast since my highschool days, this just reminds me of Nokia’s grand vision of a Convergence device, I remember playing high quality games on Nokia N81, N95 and E90 in my teens, loading the PS1 emulator (I think it was PSx?) and now 15 years later we basically have near PS4 graphics in our phones, it’s absolutely insane.

As per usual with a high quality game, this is a phone and the same limits I hit on the Symnian phones nearly 20 years ago exist now, namely; not enough room for cooling, device gets pretty warm and even hot at some points of game play.

HOWEVER…

With the developments in modern mobile gaming, you can get a controller and a cooling fan for your phone and happily play this game without much worry.
You will need to be near a charger, if you have Battery Anxiety then I suggest you stick to Console and PC gaming.
40mins of gaming took my 15 Pro Max from 100% to 95%, keep going and you will have a dead battery in a few hours as the game gets more intense and demanding.

EDIT:

Interesting, I set it to 720P with 120FPS refresh rate, seemed to be just fine, phone barely heated up, it’s when you up the resolution where the SoC may feel more strain, even then the game itself does not seem to skip a beat, stays smooth.

Best thing is to just leave it at default settings though, I jumped straight to the highest Resolution in my initial game play

What?? My phone drops more than 5% in 40min by just staring blankly at the screen

So was out on a site visit today for an event we are doing end of this month. I took a whole bunch of photos and videos, switched between the Camera app and Instagram, and the phone only got slightly warm even when shooting in the sun. iOS 17.1 seems to have further addressed any issues with heating up and battery drain when using the camera.

Have to say the camera is amazing, the results are significantly better than my 13 Pro Max which already to great pictures.
Very interesting how the Camera AI simply decides what pics it will take at 24MP and which it will take at 12 MP, LOL, but the end result is always great.

I wanted to post the pics here but it seems MyBB is having issues allowing me…

Heres’s a few it has allowed. The picture with the gate is taken wtih the 5x optical lens BTW, the rest with main camera…

Google Pixel 8 Pro vs. iPhone 15 Pro Max Speed Test - PhoneBuff

Wait a darn moment, 12GB of RAM in the Pixel 8 Pro and it still couldn’t hold those apps? That is insane!
iPhone managed just fine with 8GB RAM and finished first, crazy, I thought Google Pixel devices were meant to be running the lightest and most efficient Google Android FW.
