ZDNET conducted thermal imaging tests on iPhone 15 Pro after Apple's iOS 17.0.3 update and has concluded the overheating issue with fast-charging appears to be resolved. Other overheating reports have arisen since then.

Will have to see. I know some clear cases do yellow, like the one I bought from Vodacom, but the clear Moov case I got from iStore is still going strong with no yellowing.

So far my 15 is working well. dropped it today lol but not from a big height. All good.

the battery is doing great - full day usage and on 60% at night. Screen is great, response is great.

As I expected, Apple perfected the previous iphone even more.

Yep, when I got my 15 Pro Max on Monday, when I got home I booted it up and one of the first things it did was update straight to iOS 17.0.3 and it has been performing great, it doesn’t get any warmer than my 13 Pro Max got, I even did a few long TikTok, Facebook and IG sessions on Saturday morning and it remained cool.

The point at which it guzzles battery and gets warm is when using the Camera extensively, I used it to shoot a lot of 4K@60FPS videos and take a lot of photos on Thursday and noticed it getting warmer and eating through the battery faster but 13 Pro Max did the same to.

My battery usage seems to have stabilised after a day or two and now I'm ending days with 40-50% left with AOD turned on. It seems AOD eats about 10% throughout the day.

Yeah, I guess I'm using it as a novelty at the moment. It doesn't make sense if you have a watch.

Had to use it with my previous phone (Samsung) because they removed the notification light, so had no idea if I had new messages, mails, etc, unless I enabled AOD because my phone was permanently on silent, or checked my phone manually.

Moved over to iPhone when the 13 came out, which also didn’t have notification lights, but no AOD, so I just lived with it - until I got an Apple Watch, and got my notifications there (phone is still on silent).

Have to say I am truly appreciating the 15PM’s lighter weight and smaller footprint more everyday along with the much smaller bezels, it looks and feels so much more compact, but you can see the screen is large, kind of messes with the mind (in a good way). Never thought the phone would feel so much more different to my 13 Pro Max which now feels like an unwieldy thing with or without a case.

It’s actually incredibly tempting to use the 15 PM without a case, the rounded edges are amazing and the matte frame + matte back glass give a nice bit of grip, but even with a case it just doesn’t have that gigantic heavy feel the 13 Pro Max and 14 Pro Max have.

If your 13 PM is in great condition you can probably get a good trade-in for it, you will have to do it in-store.

I ended up giving my 13 PM to my Mom as her iPhone X was now showing its age and she was looking to buy a new iPhone anyway, but I would have traded in had she already got a new one.

I've never seen the point of AOD.

I like it, only because of getting used to it with my previous Samsungs. I also like the Standby mode, easy to see the time in the middle of the night.

I am sort of the same, I kept it on for a while but have now turned it off as when my phone is on my work desk it distracts me with AOD, I keep thinking there is an important notification.

I already have an Apple Watch, so AOD is not very useful to me.
