iPhone 15 Rumours & Release Date

jerryrigeverything says the titanium choice was a mistake rip

So the new titanium Iphones are less durable than the 14. Didn't see that one coming. Just another reason to wait for the 16 series. Hopefully their next model will not be less durable than the 15 Pro Max.

Who needs a durable phone anyway? LOL.

Although my phones are always in a case from minute 1, the durability tests for the 15 are not reassuring.

That bend test especially- jeans pocket and sitting down looks like an insta-crack

Edit- that guy who flew to Australia also showed just how strong the 14 is

People that put their phones in their back pockets for some weird reason

My girlfriend just placed her 15 Pro pre-order through Vodacom Online by phoning them (we tried the website thing but they kept defaulting to sending the OTP to her Vodacom contract router rather than her prepaid SIM). This was just another hoop to jump through: yesterday we first completed the port of her number from MTN to Vodacom. Let’s see how this rollercoaster goes! I remembered that Vodacom Online was one of the few places that still had stock when I ordered last year, when iStore and almost all branches had sold out … so my hope is that plays out again.

I managed to place my preorder for the Pro Max through on my Vodacom contract on the iStore late yesterday morning. Even though the label stated Black Titanium on the contract filtering page, I could choose what colour I wanted. I also couldn’t pick the option to pick up in-store, despite what it said as being one of the advantages of upgrading through the iStore online, even after phoning them. This means I’ll need to go in-store within 30 days of receiving the phone to do the trade-in (I’d prefer in-store instead of doing the online/courier trade in). Now to see if I end up getting any stock. I’m not in a rush, but they already completed the actual contract upgrade, so to get it cancelled if the stock takes forever is going to be a pain.

Which colour did you go for?

I've only almost bought it once more, and after seeing the durability tests have got to about a 90% decision to wait another year, my 14 Pro still looks like new (and I've even managed to sit on it in my jeans back pocket a few times without any adverse effect).

Looking at some Watch Ultras I don't think the titanium has the same ability to resist scratches as the stainless steel.

I ended up going for the natural titanium.
Yeah my girlfriend also opted for that. The Pro colours were so terrible this year. At least last year I could get that purple colour. Dunno why Apple is SO prescriptive when everyone else is giving their users fun customisation choices,

I felt exactly the same. I was so excited when that burgundy colour leaked and was claimed to be the new colour for this year, but based on the reports of the initial batch of iPhone Pro colours being uneven, I suspect they scraped the colour because it was too difficult a pigment to work with on the titanium material.

I almost opted for the black titanium, only because I thought they might have put it on every contract label as way to hint to people that you might want to get the black titanium as that’s the most stock Core has received.

Comprehensive battery test by Mrwhosetheboss including 15 Pro Max, 14 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max…

15 Plus is a battery beast, while 15 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max took 2nd and 3rd respectively.
