I would have been happy if Vodacom would have just released a memo on Friday morning to their support staff and put a little slot on their site saying something about it, whether they support the functions or not etc.
Then we all know where we stand, what to expect etc.
It's not so complicated to do that...
Fully agree with you on this one.
Maybe the call center manager to blame here?
However, I'm still of the opinion that Vodacom actually do want you to enjoy your phone and make full use of it, cos if you do, they're making money and that makes them happy.
I think there's three ways Vodacom can go about offering tethering on the iPhone :
1. Offer the config file as a download on their downloads page, with clear instructions on how to get it installed and enable it on your iPhone.
2. Send the file to your phone after you've put in your phone number on the download page
3. You'll have to phone the helpdesk and they'll send you the file
I favor the download page with clear instructions on how to enable and install it on your iPhone, cos then they can also put up a notice saying ''by downloading this file you agree that out of bundle rates might apply after you've depleted your allocated data bundle...bla bla bla'' and give you information as to how to purchase additional data bundles for your phone.
