iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus announced

$199??? R2000+- ? Does not sound right...
As the above post mentions in america all contracts are pay in meaning you have to pay a bit extra for the phone and then you pay the rest over a 24 month contract

Lol true story they playing catch up still. They don't even come close to my nexus 5 but hey at least they trying and got rid of the "perfect" phone size

Nice rectangular phone with rounded corners......oh wait where does the curved edges come from !!!!:D

This is amazing! But it leaves out the biggest difference of all..

Nexus 4 (16GB) - $349
iPhone 6 (16GB) - $649

It's insane that Apple are releasing a phone with roughly the same features as the nexus 4... which got released 2 years ago! There used to be a time when Apple were innovators, nowadays they're forever playing catch-up.

I dunno ... they've been pretty much behind or limited when it comes to everything, hardware and software :/ 3G, Bluetooth, Bluray, NFC, USB3, eSata, wireless standards, notifications, typing suggestions and the list goes on.

In fairness they do get there, eventually

I do the rounds yes as that gives me the opportunity to experience the good and bad of them all. I've been on iOS before I jumped to Android. I needed to give WP a go and it was a satisfying experience (more so when 8.1 hit my Nokia 1520). There is a place for all of them and the best fit is different for different people and the seasons in a person's life. I'm back in a iOS season and I enjoy it all over again. I get bored quickly so it helps that we have choices.
I'm with you(and agree that WP is really underrated) though funny enough the only platform I haven't tried is Apple's. Sold my upgrade few years back, just never had the desire to own one. Maybe now would be a good time to try them out, I just don't know what I'd be getting that I can't get elsewhere...for less!

Nah, don't think now is a good time for the first time. Wait for iOS 9 first, see how apple further opens their APIs. They've only started now, so first give them a while to get through the growing pains. My opinion of course.

What's the deal with Apple being unable or unwilling to shrink the giant bezels on their phones? Looks at this picture where both the iPhone 6 Plus and the LG G3 has a 5.5" screen. I just can't figure this one out.

Actually the HTC One was a rip-off of the design language of the iPhone 5. It was a classy ripoff for sure.

The only area I can see where they took something from the One in the iPhone 6 is the plastic edging - is that what you're talking about?

Other than the chamfered edges, it was hardly similar. But the iPhone 6 has gone round in the manner that the One M8 went.

I dunno, I don't like it. That exposed camera should be included in their measurements for thickness- after all, they sued Samsung when they didn't do the same to claim the world's thinnest smartphone tag.

iPhone actually looks quite ugly next to the G3... :|

Bitch-ass ugly.

Only thing I dont look about the use of screen space on the G3 is the Home and Back buttons that shows on the screen instead of on the lower bezel like the Samsung phones.

Nobody else at the time was using the materials or design concepts that the iPhone 5 used. It's not a stretch at all to say that HTC took some liberal inspiration from it. The iPhone 6's roundness is also very similar to the iPod Touch 5th generation. I really don't think this is a case of Apple ripping off HTC.

I'm also not totally sold on the design of the 6. The plastic edging is cheap looking. The one factor that mitigates the camera jutting so awkwardly out is that it will disappear with a case. And I think it's understandable since you really can't substitute digitally for depth in a camera lens. A 6+ with a Watch would be a great combination for me but it's so bloody pricey :/
