Unbelievable... why does what other people prefer in a product get people so worked up? If person A like product B and you like product C then live with it...

I don't see Apple employing NFC. They already have iBeacons doing well enough, and would work better for the Home suite by allowing a greater range of iOS devices to be interoperable.

As for the watch, I'd be very impressed if they do launch that, I haven't really checked, but there doesn't seem to be any leaks.

I doubt that Apple will launch a smartwatch when takeup of the devices is still rather low, and the defined list of usecases is very limited at present. Unless they can find a whole new use for it, they'll probably stick to what they know and do best- a strong, vertically integrated lineup.
 
My thoughts on the iWatch is a bit different. I suspect that it isn't a watch at all. More of a health monitoring device like the fitBit syncing with an apple device via Bluetooth 4.0. Apple is using the same Bluetooth for handover between iOS and Osx.

The biggest problem for anything this small is battery life. Samsung gear is really bad at it. The only way that you will be able to keep the iwatch running is if you have no display and/or it has an additional charging device build eg. Working like those watches that charge by means of the movement of the arms. If the power usage can be kept low and there is secondary charging ability. You might have something.

It is all speculation though

iOS is pretty good at preserving battery life. As long as the list of applications is simplified enough, you wouldn't necessarily need to sacrifice the screen to have it last long. The Samsung Gear is bad at battery life because it uses its own variant of Android (and Tizen). Android Wear devices will outperform it in the future.

Yes I know, and I agree with you...
In fact when the 5 came out, I was so disappointed I argued with myself about going out and getting the Galaxy S3 which had far better specs in terms of hardware.
However, the software won me over in the end.
I love the iTunes store, and I find a much higher quality of applications besides easier navigation and better variety of apps.

I must say though, that Apple will not release a feature until they are certain that it will add value and will work flawlessly.
I love their attention to detail and practicality combined.

Hoping this whole HealthKit story will bring along a wrist device like the Garmin Vivofit.

It seems the older I get the more I need to "monitor" my health even if its boring stats.
Wont be replacing my 5S anytime soon though, maybe iPhone 7 as I enjoy iTunes store more than Google Play Store at the moment.

That is true, but I meant purely in terms of design.
Not quite how they're calling it "Premium" without premium specs.

There been a number of online comparisons between the 5s and a 4.7" iPhone 6 replica. Thinner form factor coupled with a more efficient design lends itself to one handed use. You and PP are going to love it!!
