iPhone 6 special event announced by Apple

hope they talk about the new iwatch...

remember, apple ushered in the age of the smartphone (even though the smart phone had been out for a couple years before the iphone hit the streets). will they usher in the iwatch age? cause right now...the smart watches are not really taking off.

Smart watches are a harder sell than smartphones. The round smart watches from Motorola and LG will probably pick things up a bit, considering the other options are rather hideous. Also, proper watches are a huge industry and many people (myself included) put a lot of value in owning a decent watch. Not for all the tea in China would I wear a gimmicky smart watch over a classy chronograph from a reputable watch maker.

As an Android user myself (I've never owned anything from Apple), I honestly don't understand the hate in this post and many other in this thread.

.. and that's the bottom line, I don't think I'd even wear a smartwatch made by a reputable watch company.

Mmmmm, would be interesting to see a Tag Hauer/Breitling/Rolex smartwatch running iOS/Android!

Wonder if that would ever become a reality? It's not totally implausible...
 
Considering I hardly wear a watch as it is, mostly because I ride a motorcycle and it interferes with wearing gloves I can't see myself getting too excited about it.

Then again if it's very flush and hardly noticeable I would maybe consider it.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of jailbreaking. A little bit of flexibility goes a long, long way towards refining the iOS experience...

Android's open nature is actually what puts me off it!! Spend too much time tinkering...

I find the straps always catch on the edge of the desk. Anyway, why do I need a watch when the time is on my PC and its on my phone? If they come out with a strapless watch that can replace my phone, include my full music library, run my apps, and it wont look stupid then I'll be interested.

RIP Betamax, Soon RIP to Plasma. :)
And yah, I know that Betamax was regarded as superior quality as well as plasma according to many out there.
