iPhone 6 stock availability

Ja né, still a Blackberry User, and waiting from Feb 2014, for the "new" one, not to buy the older model, was hoping for a Me 2 Me Present this year.

Blackberry... Sheesh. I believe the stores have been receiving more Telkom stock. I wasn't near the top of the list. Luckily for me all those above wanted Vodacom or MTN contracts.

I want to buy cash, and they said cash = Telkom, i went there this morning, and same old story, no we dont know, and we dont have stock, you are really lucky,

Seeing as though we are all very quick to slate Core (often rightly so) for poor service, I feel we are equally obliged to commend them on good service. I picked up my iPhone 6 from the V&A Waterfront store on 24th on a Telkom contract. The sim wasn't activated when I tested it in the store and the manager immediately got hold of Telkom and was assured that they'd activate it shortly. About 1 hour after getting home the manager called to say that there was an error with my Telkom SIM and to avoid me any inconvenience he would personally deliver a new SIM to my house after work, which he did.

I certainly think service like that needs to be commended.

Got my 64gb space grey on Tuesday - through Vodacom direct so it looks like more stock has arrived...

Picked up a 64gig iPhone 6 yesterday at the vodashop in Sandton. iStore still doesn't have.
I know they had 16gig as well at Vodaworld. There is a lot of 6+ though, but I have been struggling to get a normal 6 since the beginning of this month.

MTN has stock and will be delivered to all iStores within 72hours.

However because of the constrain and huge demands only around 200 units were given the go ahead and an average of 10 units will be relived to iStores.

iPhone 6 64GB Space Grey.

iStore online seem to have the 64gb iPhone 6 but obviously this can only be purchased cash and I need one on contract:(

Apparently the stores and the online store source it from two different suppliers thus no availability at the stores. WTF

I walked into an mtn store yesterday to upgrade and walked out with an iphone 6 a few mins later.
Would have though all stock issues would be sorted out by now?!

That's just a clear indication that there is absolutely no order to this whole process and some of us are bound to take it personally, feeling screwed over. I pre-registered with MTN in the first two hours of them opening the page, not a peep since. iStore eventually called, but I'm not entirely sure why because they didn't have stock... Vodacom put my complete application through and I've pretty much been waiting for a courier for 2 months now. Might try to cancel that and just buy it cash and figure out where I got the cash from later. Seeing stock online is encouraging though (for 64GB and 128GB).

Yup, definitely starting to take it personally.. not as bad as u Aessa, but been waiting for that same courier since the beginning of December... really expected Vodacom of all the SPs to be on top of this... :/

MTN at Coastlands, and Gateway have all iPhones in stock. But only for contracts as they don't sell them outright.

iStore gateway as usual has no stock.

Is there any way to get a phone on prepaid (ie full price) from one of the cell providers?

I suspect that iStore will be out of stock mostly until end of Feb when that trade in program of theirs expires.

On a recent trip to the iStore I were told that the number of deliveries are starting to increase. The waiting list has been worked of until people that ordered back in November.

So I got my Vodacom contract statement & invoice via email yesterday, and in the invoice they have an iPhone 6 listed there, with an IMEI number! So I'm guessing my iPhone has been chosen already, shouldn't be long now! :D
