iPhone 6 stock availability

I'm on a sim-only contract from MTN (did the My Choice 25 - gives you 25 anytime minutes plus a handful of sms and a couple mb of data). Costs me R39 a month. Then I added on an Afrihost data bundle (you have to have an mtn contract to add an afrihost data bundle). I have the 2gb bundle for R145. So my monthly cost is R184, which gives me 25 minutes + 2048mb data. The sim-only contract is 24 months unfortunately, but for only R39 a month, i don't mind. And to cancel contracts early, it would only cost you R39 to get out of the mtn one (1 months notice).

As a side note, if you want to query how your order is progressing I found the quickest response was getting in touch wih the istore via the @MyIStore twitter account.

Phoned the iStore customer care now. "We are expecting stock but cannot provide an ETA due to security reasons"

Seriously hope I get a call when the new shipment arrives

They called me from the local iStore the day I got mine from online Istore so they do call eventually

So I see people have been getting the Plus models and some 16GB standard 6's, but has anyone managed to get the 64GB standard 6's?

Ugh!
I was inches away from ordering the gold 64 GB 6 Plus, even though I wanted the space grey, purely out of frustration of waiting) before I saw that that too is now sold out.
I have my little chrome monitor extension checking on the website, but who knows when any 64's will be back in stock. All the changes to their website because of the beginning and end of Cyber Monday set off false alarms for the extension so it's not perfect, but hopefully it will let me know next time.

ReiSupplySA, from my checking back and forth on the website, it has been a long while since I saw any 64 GB iPhone 6's around.

So for those of you waiting to get the iPhone 6 on contract, Vodacom's social media department today said they might limited stock end of this week for delivery next week. If you're on holiday then, contact their sales department to change your delivery address. They can make a note, which hopefully means someone will contact you to get the new delivery address from you when the item is shipped.

For those of you on MTN - No delivery of stock from their supplier for the next two weeks at least....

At launch, Apple said they're going to make this the fastest world-wide roll out yet. What they didn't say is that this means sending 10 iPhones to each country every few weeks.

Doesnt look like I'll be getting my phone before I go on leave...

yes correct and true, The USA, Canada China etc have received second third batches of deliveries however we here in sunny South Africa still await a second batch delivery.....

Can't really blame them. Most of the USA stores sell more phones in a month than SA in a year.

I've strongly considered just going with an iPhone 5S and always stay one cycle behind and so always get stock easily. But they are still absurdly expensive compared to the iPhone 6, so not really worth it.
(I took a detour from iPhone 4S to Samsung Galaxy S4 and went back to iPhone quite quickly, but by then stopped my contract and somehow got stuck on an ageing iphone)
