iPhone 6

Strange, but I'm not seeing those in my camera roll.

You may have Whatsapp save to camera roll disabled in privacy settings. If you select that option it keeps the images in Whatsapp but it still doesn't have its own folder on the phone, you just have to scroll to find them.

No, all the images seem to reside within whatsapp.

Ok the answer seems to be below

I'm not bad-mouthing the iPhone here, but things just seem much simpler in Android, most likely because I'm used to it.

You have a separate album in the gallery for WhatsApp images? (WhatsApp is an example, BBM, Facebook, etc).

This would be nice actually, i have over 2000 pics in my camera roll, imagine the pain finding 1 specific picture.

Simpler in Android? I'm currently trying to avoid getting 2 lockscreens if I use the stock G2 lockscreen with audio controls enabled from Doubletwist. It doesn't seem to be possible. The guy next to me nearly bricked his HTC just now trying to fix a bluetooth bug that cropped up due to something else he was trying to do so he had to go in and ADB push a rom to his device to fix it. Simpler is a very very relative term dude.

Found it under chat settings.

On the iPhone, I cannot even easily set a MP3 as a ringtone ;)

But, this is not another iOS vs Android thread.

Well you kind of went and turned it inot an iOS vs Android thread. Point being there's plenty of things that are not easy to do on Android as on iOS. Overall, my G2 is great but I wouldn't say it's as solid or easy to use as my previous 4s. That phone like...never ever had to even restart. I've had to use Doubletwist to sync my podcasts onto my G2 via iTunes due to the dearth of useful podcasting apps on Android.

No I did not. My issue was with the iPhone 4 I'm using now, and what's bothering me about it and what I would like to see changed on the iPhone 6 ;) And I'm with you, the S3 is also hardly the miracle gadget people make it out to be.

Ok but when you turn of saving, can you only find the pics in WhatsApp?

That's right. They don't get saved anywhere on the phone. So it's also not an ideal scenario if you want to save whatsapp received images. But as you say, they're often not of a nature that you really want to save anyway. It's more an ephemeral sort of medium.

I just remembered that little icon on my Apple TV called "Apple events".

And sure enough, streaming live tonight and the countdown is on. This should be interesting.

The resolution of 1134 x 750 pixels is rubbish it works out as a dpi count of 289 ,way less than the currant iPhones 326 dpi.

Look, there not going to be any major surprises tonight, let's face it. Pretty much 90% of what tonight's keynote will cover has already been discussed via the rumor mill.

No one is expecting anything "revolutionary" either but there will inevitably be the obligatory hardware upgrades covering the processor, camera, screen and screen ppi. No ways the screen res will be less than the current iPhone, NO WAY!!

Like every new iPhone it will be lighter, faster, clearer, bigger, better etc etc etc

How long does it take historically to get the iPhones to the shops after the event?

I'll be passing through UK probably next week and I want to play with them :p

I think you can expect that from most Brands currently. Incremental changes. No shooting the lights out. But lets see what happens with the 2nd product they plan to release.

Could it be apple shoes, something like google glass? Who knows? I think it might be something linked with Beats but pure speculation everything is atm.

The only device that's more or less a known quantity is the 4.7" iPhone 6. And even that is full of contradiction from all the sources. Some say 1gb ram, some say 2gb. The resolution is disputed. The actual manufacturing of the glass isn't solidified. That spec sheet you linked is totally specious. The 5.5" iPhone and the wearable are a blank slate.

Absolutely. It wouldn't happen.
